Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV330 Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Error C31:22 When trying to use my camera in any setting this error flashes in the top right corner (C31:22), the eject picture flashes into the middle of the screen, and the camera beeps. This happened a couple of months ago and I tried using different tapes, charging the battery, just plugging it in for the power supply, but nothing seemed to work. So I set it aside for a few months. Tried it again recently and the camera worked fine for a couple weeks and now it is happening again. What should I do?

This is a capstan error but the capstan may not be bad. 1st I clean the tape path ,then check for low take up tension, needs to be 8 to 10 grams. start there, sometimes these require replacement of the mechanism which is not all that expensive considering. part is under a humdred. these mech are not just drop and go, they wll need computer recalibration. good luck.

Error code 94:01 is an internal memory error. If you still get the error after reformatting the card or trying a different one, it's an electronic issue usually used by component failure and requires replacement of a circuit board within the camera.

E:91:01 in DSC-W80

I can't recall all the Sony error codes off the top of my head, but I believe E:91 is that your flash is not working.

Can you take pictures at all or do you get just the error code? If you can take a picture with the flash off then your flash needs to be replaced.

If you can't use the camera you need to first press the reset button, then reset all camera settings to default.

When "FLASH error" (Self-diagnosis Code E : 91 : 01) occurs, to prevent any abnormal situation caused by high voltage, setting of the flash is changed automatically to disabling charge and flash setting. After fixing, this setting needs to be deactivated. Flash error code can be initialized by the operations on the HOME screen.

Method for Initializing the Flash Error Code
Initializes the setting to the default setting. Even if you execute this function, the images stored in the internal memory are retained.
1 Select [Initialize] with v/V/b/B, then press z. The message "Initialize all settings" appears. 2 Select [OK] with v, then press z. The settings are reset to the default setting.

To cancel the resetting
Select [Cancel] in step 2, then press z.
· Make sure that the power is not disconnected during resetting.

Hope this helps.

Flashing Err and E/Error Problem

You might want to check the position of the aperture ring on the lens. If it is not set at the highest number, ( IE smallest aperture, f22,f32 ), then the camera will display that error message

Has error

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
