Sakar or iConcepts mp3 not working????

By tara1971 on Sep 16, 2007

" "
I just purchased a Sakar/iConcepts mp3 player, model 48379. I cannot get the iconcepts "music Express" music manager software to download/run on my laptop. I did download songs from Walmart.com directly to the mp3 player, however the player only plays one song; the rest show us as "No Authority".

HELP!!!!!

Just plug the mp3 player in like it was a removable storage device and drag and drop the songs into a folder on the mp3 player. you can delete the songs the same way. You dont have to install the software that comes with the player. I bought my son one and was having the same problems as you guys and this is how I fixed it.

Hi everyone with a Sakar 48097 (or similar, I assume) mp3 player,
It will download and play songs that we rip from CD to the computer, but will play no songs that we have purchased online, even though we have full rights to sync. (My older daughter has a different brand of mp3 player and it works just fine.) I talked to Sakar; they are well aware of this "issue" ( I call it a "design defect") and apologized over and over again.

The solution? Burn the songs to CD then rip them back to the computer. None of the license info carries over, so then it will download to the mp3 player fine. The hitch? The title, artist, etc. info is lost. You'll have to add this to each track before transferring it to the mp3 player.

The tech said that they are fixing this issue with new products. I suggested they offer a software upgrade we can download. I'm suspicious of that.

All right folks. Santa brought a nice purple MP3 player for kids made by a company called Sakar. Santa may have seen them in Walmart. It took me all night to figure out a workaround for the CD with software on it from Music Express since it didn't run on my computer.

Here it is: drag "or copy" an MP3, WMA, or WAV file from its location to F drive.

plug player into USB, close MICIN.dir screen, copy MP3 file, open MY Computer, paste MP3 file into your removable storage drive (mine is F). It will copy directly onto your MP3 player.

Hope that helps

I'm having a problem with this player. When I first got it. It worked fine for a hour. Now it won't turn on. When i plug it into the computer, it looks like it's sleeping. Any ideas on how to reset or fix? I tried changing batteries.

I just bought one yesterday too.  I had the same problem.  Says "no authority"  I called the tech support on the owners manual and he said that I have to download only "uncopyrighted" music for it to work on my player.

Here it is folks the most simple solution to all the problems. First find a suitable work area preferably somewhere with a flat level surface, grab a hammer and some safety goggles.......

I had the same "No Authority" problem with my new 48097 model and based on the above info, I thought it was a copyright issue. It wasn't. Then, I thought if I downloaded directly into the MP3 player, bypassing the software that came with the player, as suggested above, it would work. It didn't. Then, I figured it out. I was ripping the songs from the CDs as WMFs when I should've ripped them as MP3 files. So, when you're ripping songs from a CD (I used Windows Media Player), make sure your "rip" setting is set to rip as an MP3 file. Then, transfer directly to the MP3 player and it should work.

well I finallly got mine to work. the disc is ****... I have vista so it found the drivers for it and the songs I had on it already I got to sync on it. If you go to media player and it shows your player you can drag and drop and it should work fine =]
