Question about Kenmore 24 in. 15173 Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

Water doesn't drain

At the end of every cycle there is cloudy water in the bottom of dishwasher about level with heating elements. I pushed drain button and you hear washer doing something but the water is still there after 2minute cycle completes. Water does not overflow during numerous normal wash cycles. This dishwasher was not used for six months prior to returning home.

I have a 5 year old kenmore front load built-in. During any of the wash/rinse/dry cycles, all the water dioes not leave the unit. Once the drain cycle is used, all the water is drained. Why is the water not raiing during the normal cycles. Seems to me if it were a pluggage, the drain cycle would not work.

This problem just started. After the cycle is complete there is still cloudy water left in the bottom of the dishwasher. I have to run the 2 minute drain cycle to completly empty out the dishwasher. I feel like my dishes are not getting very clean as a result. Yuck!

Dishwasher not completing cycles

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If the cycle doesn't complete, check these:Water-heating cycleTimerWater-heating cycleMany dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time. On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too. TimerTimers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it. 9_25_2012_6_48_09_am.jpg

Our Haier HDC1804TW counter-top dishwasher does not complete the washing cycle. It stops after 90 minutes which should be 115 minutes for heavy washing according to the manual. The washing light is...

Since mine does the very same thing, it's my guess that is the sterilising cycle as by this point it has already washed, done a short fill to remove any remaining detergent, and two rinses. I'm also assuming the second short fill is just to cover the heating element and/or to to generate an amount of steam having being heated by the element (I'm basing that assumption on the heat of the dishes at the end of end of the cycle and the heat of the water when it drains)

My Bosch Dishwasher is not drying my dishes now. The model number is SHE44C05UC.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, it seems that the heating element has failed. The dishwasher uses steam to heat the tub to dry the dishes. I suspect your dishes are also being washed in cold water.

To check this, please run a regular full wash cycle. Allow the washer to fill with water and run for about 10 minutes, then open the door and feel the water temperature in the bottom of the washer. If the water is cold, it's more than likely the heating element has failed.

There are other possible faults which would cause the element not to heat, but these often prevent the dishwasher from completing the cycle. If the water is cold but the dishwasher still drains the water at the end - and completes the cycle - the heating element has probably failed.

Please try this simple test for water temperature and let me know if you need further assistance.

1" of water standing in bottom of dishwasher after cycle? what is the problem

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.

Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn

Condensation in dishwasher

Make sure you aren't selecting the eco setting to conserve power. Running a dishwasher in that mode disables the heating element that dries the dishes at the end of a cycle. Here a few ideas you can try,... with an empty dishwasher.. start a cycle and make sure you do not use that ECO mode if it has that feature.. then stop the dishwasher when it near the end of the cycle and open the door ./.. check to see if the water has been drained and that the heater element is on and hot. If there is a high volume of water in the bottom of the dishwasher, make sure the darin filter screen is clean and not restricting water flow... If that is clean.. and you have a lot of water in the bottom pan, you could have a problem with the pump, a hose in line with the pump or your house drain system is restrictive.. Good luck... and Hope this helps you..

Water level below heating element and element does not appear to heat

Make sure the drain hose high loop is installed properly, normally you have this in the sink cabinet high up. Otherwise the water inside the machine may drain "by itself", leaking through the inactive drain pump during the wash cycle and cause this and other troubles.

Whirlpool Dishwasher DU850DWGX1 won't completely drain

Commonly this is result of low water pressure or hose height/length

As long as the water is below the heating element and the dishes are getting clean its actually normal. Sometimes the pressure or hose length/height meets specs but will not always drain all water.

But as long as it is below the heating element this is normal

I am sure.
