Question about Mitsubishi VS-70707 70" Rear Projection Television

Mistsubishi VS60-607 standard definition , has scrolling lines+jumpy image

I have a mitsubishi big screen 60 inch projection tv model VS60-607 manufactured in 2001. My problem is that the image on the screen is "jumpy" and has "scrolling lines". I thought at first that the problem may have been one of the red, green or blue lamps, but the lines and "scrolling" appear on each of the lamps the same exact way. So it seems the problem is coming from somewhere before it arrives to the lamps. Could it be in the circuit board? or one of the components that look like "coil packs" that have soft cables with suction cups on the ends? This problem started out not as severe and went away after the TV warmed up . It progressively took longer and longer to go away and now it stays that way all the time.

The vertical control has gone bad and requires professional help. should cost $180 to 220 to fix. Its not a DIY project unless you are really good with soldering and electronics. Its not impossible to do it but needs safety issues to be addressed and hence not recommed as DIY. Checkout more answers and repair estimates at

These models have been known to have faulty capacitors on the PIP module as a result thy loose vertical synvh and the picure will roll. The PIP module is no longer available. But if you would like I can post a way for you to bypass the module and if the modle is at fault your tv will work fine, but you wont have PIP anylonger
