test for voltage to the fan... if there is voltage.... replace the fan again as that one is defective. check to make sure that there is not a seperate power hook up for the fan as well.

Rover 25 1.4 2004 hot engine and radiator fan problem

Yes, it is possible to install a thermostat backwards, though unlikely. If the thermostat isn't opening properly, the hot engine coolant won't be flowing over the cooling fan switch and give you high temps. I would first determine if the thermostat was opening at all, and if it is, is it opening at the proper temp. I have had many new thermostats that, while new, didn't work correctly. To check the cooling fan motor, turn on the AC(if equipped) and the fan should engage. If no AC, disconnect the cooling fan switch, and the fan should engage. Check for power and ground at the fan motor. If you have both power and ground, the fan motor is faulty

Fujitsu airon ASTA24LCC 2 flashes green and red then 5 red flashes any idea what it means

Had similar problem (ie. 2 green & red flashed followed by 5 red flashes - Fan blowing but not cooling ... I also noted that the outside unit fan wasn't going). Tried restarting several time after waiting only a minute or two after turning the mains power off but with no change. So turned the unit off at the mains power and then fired it up about 2hrs later and it was all working fine.

WIRING A SINGLE PRESET DUAL DIMMER AND FAN SWITCH

Hi *****,

I'm an electrician and can help you with this problem. First - shut off the power. Check your wiring as I describe the connections below.

If this is the only switch operating the fan and light, it should be wired as a single pole in the direction sheet. That is as follows:

1) one black wire - it should be connected to the "hot" power source, 2) one green wire - it should be connected to the bare / green ground wires & switchbox (if metal), 3) one red wire - it should be connected to the fan hot wire, 4) one yellow wire - it should be connected to the light hot wire, the remaining wires (yellow with a "3 way label" and red with a "3 way label") should not be connected to anything and capped with a wirenut.

The wiring changes if you are using a second switch to operate either the fan or light (download & view the wiring diagram provided here to follow along with my text). In this case, the hot wire from the fan or light would connect to the black screw of a standard 3 way switch, and the remaining two terminal screws on the switch would connect to the red / red with 3 way label - or yellow / yellow with 3 way label pair. Power and ground wiring on the dimmer black and green are the same as the single pole wiring described above.
I hope this helps & good luck!

Where is the cooling fan relay located on a 94 Chevy Beretta 3.1?

It is located at the rear of the engine compartment behind the right strut tower. Thyere are 3 or 4 relays there in a cluster. The one you want has 4 wires: 2- RED 1- LIGHT BLUE and 1- DARK GREEN.

Both of the RED wires are HOT at all times. They come from fusible link [G] located at the starter solenoid (RUST colored).

The LIGHT BLUE wire goes to the cooling fan. This one should be hot whenever the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) turns the relay on. One of the RED wires provides battery positive voltage to the LIGHT BLUE wire when the PCM grounds the relay primary (coil) circuit to operate the relay.

The DARK GREEN wire is the relay control circuit from the PCM. One of the RED wires feeds battery positive voltage to the relay coil and the PCM controls the relay by providing GROUND for the relay coil. The DARK GREEN wire goes to Connector #2, PIN #2 at the PCM.

Ac/fan stopped cooling/blowing/ i hooked up red & green wires and fan blows. now what?

Just to understand what you are saying; You are hooking a wire between the R terminal & the G terminal on the fan control board and the fan runs. When you turn the fan on by the thermostat is does not.

Assuming that you have 24 volts at the G terminal (or wire) at the air handler/furnace when the fan does not run, I would have to say, based on the information that I have been given, that you have a bad fan control board.

What your doing when you touch the test light to that 3rd wire is actually closing the circuit and powering the fan, like the temperature controlled switch should be doing once the engine warms. That sending unit would be screwed into the cooling system where the water can touch it and most likely is in the radiator lower tank or bottom of radiator side tank. Find that sensor and test the wires for power when engine is hot and fan should be on. You could put a toggle switch on it to activate the fan until you get the proper sending unit/sensor.

First make sure he didn't accidentally push the fan button to "on" instead of "automatic". If he did, switch it back to automatic and it will soon go off when the compressor stops running.

If that doesn't do it, and you're certain the red and white are properly wired, then go ahead and switch the greens. But I'd turn the breaker off first.
