Hello Ljet,

The best possible solution is to find an existing grommet in the firewall to run your wire through. While I cannot be specific about the 2003 Diamante, I've found that you can nearly always locate a firewall grommet. I'm attaching a photo of a power wire going through a firewall grommet. Notice that it has been sealed with silicone sealant.

If there is no grommet in the firewall, you still have a couple of options:

Option 1 is to drill through the firewall, which can be done from either the interior side, or engine side . Be mindful of the brake booster and hoses/wiring on the firewall. You can use a cut piece of PCV pipe or a PVC coupler for a bushing, just measure the OD of the PVC and drill accordingly (just SLIGHTLY oversize - you may need to use a hole saw). Then epoxy the bushing in place. Once the epoxy is dry you have a smooth pathway through the firewall which won't cut the jacket of the wire. Pull the cable and fill the area surrounding it (where it goes throught the PVC) with silicone sealant. If you are running the cables on the driver side, Be careful how you route the wires so that they do not interfere with pedal operation - take this into account when deciding where to drill your hole(s).

Option 2 is to run the cables externally, underneath the car. If you go this route, PVC tubing bolted through the floorboard can be used as conduit (Obviously, you would need to remove the seat and carpet in order to do so). Then you can use the same epoxy bushing procedure listed above to get the wire back inside the car.

Hope this helps.

Not unless you order a certain trim level. There are many engine bay lights that are easy to install as kits.

How to replace a 1999 Mitsubishi diamante power antenna fuse?

Hi, fuse should be under the dash. There is a fuse box just above kick panel next to steering wheel. The other fue box is in the engine bay next to battery. Good Luck. Remember use same size fuse as replaced.

Wiring the remote lead for a subwoofer amplifier into sony-dab500u

You can always find a fuse in the fuse panel that only has power when the key is on, find the hot side of the fuse, install a fuse tap, run a wire from the fuse tap to a switch (toggle) then run a wire to the amp.

The switch gives you full control and you never have to worry if you turned the amp off or not as it will be off when the car is off.
