Question about Lexicon Lambda Usb Desktop Recording Interface Sound Card

Open Question

I have Serato Scratch live installed on my laptop and had a small 1 in 1 out interface for works fine. As soon as I installed Cubase and hooked up the Lexicon Lambda interface the system says my bandwidth has been exceeded. My music from Serato sounds terrible until I disconnect the lambda usb interface connection. But the sound still isn't as good as it was before Cubase and Lambda. How can I get more bandwidth or better yet what should I do to make it right? Please help someone. Thanks in advance.

Also, when I have Serato and Cubase up and running at the same time, the audio track in cubase won't play. But when I close Serato the Cubase track plays fine. I researched and saw online that you can recover 20% of your bandwidth from Windows by typing in gpedit.msc etc. but I was unable to do it in Vista but I did it ok on my home pc with Windows XP. I desperately need to run both programs at the same time. HELP!!!

I was told to play around with the latency in Cubase and that should fix the problem, it didn't. I have a 3 gig hd with dual processors so I don't understand why I can't run them together....Somebody please help me!!!!!!!!

My comp cANT SEE serato scratch live

You have to hook up the SL1 Box or the 57SL mixer and then install the drivers. If you are not hooked up to either of these it will say 'Interface Disconnected' or 'Soundcard Not Found'.

Recording with condensed mic and phantom

Some (very) basics with any live audio recording:
  • Have a very very quiet space in which to record, with good acoustics (this means a room that will give a flat sound, preferably one with carpeted walls and celings, but any small, well-furnitured room should do).
  • Do not mix with the interface. Simply put the gain as high as possible without clipping and mix later in your recording program (Cubase, in your case). You can always bring the level down, but trying to gain an already recorded track will introduce noise.
  • If you are recording vocals, use a pop filter. When recording anything, experiment with different mic positions to attain the best possible, clean sound.
