Hi Guys,
I have the following config:
Brother HL-2040 USB Cable Printer
Toshiba Satellite P200
Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit
MS Office Professional Small Business 2007
A while ago, my system crashed and foolishly I transmitted an outgoing email whilst running one of my Registry Repair Applications.
Outcome is as follows: -
I can print direct to the printer/PDF writer from either MS Word or MS Excel; but I cannot print direct to the printer or PDF writer from MS Outlook.
When I attempt to print direct to the printer from MS Outlook the printer fires up and the red light flashes. Nothing prints; and when I attempt to print direct to the PDF writer software from MS Outlook the screens frosts up and MS Outlook ''hangs''.
I have reinstalled: -
MS Office Professional Small Business including MS Outlook;
PDF writer driver; and
Brother HL-2040 Printer Driver;
I have: -
Checked Printer Set-Up on MS Outlook - A4; and
Executed Registry Repair on at least 4 different Registry Repair Applications; and
Did System Restore.
But still can't find the problem. Any ideas? Will I have to re-install Windows Vista Ultimate?
So is the problem solved, or do you still require a solution...
Thanks
proton
Hi david814,
Before we jump to the conlclusion that whether we need to reinstall windows vista ultimate or not, we need to check some details...
You are trying to print emails - the HTML one or simple text?
Is that an issue with both kind of formats?
Have you tried to print something directly from IE?
Make sure that outlloo express must be updated .....
Are you getting a runtime error or script error?
Use common fix like
Start -> Run -> Type "regsvr32 ole32.dll" (without quotes) in the box and click OK.
Than try to print....
If problem still remain, let me know and do answer all my questions...
Thanks for using Fixya.

Hello taran_2005
Problem solved ... I had to re-install Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Printer was also set for manual feeding of paper.
