Re: Service menu instructions needed

Service menu code is 9876, i think. and you can manually adjust the focus using network54's post on "blurry z27x22d".

NOTICE: MUST READ BEFORE USING SERVICE CODES!!! provides this information for those that are qualified and trained to do TV repair work. Entering or making changes in service mode by untrained persons can cause significant and permanent damage to your television. If you are not qualified to service your television, please DO NOT ENTER these service menu codes. * Unplug the power cable. * Press and hold the {MUTE} button on the remote control while plugging the power cable back into the outlet. * Keep pressing the {MUTE} button until the TV powers on with the Service Menu displayed. * Use the {CH+} {CH-} buttons to select menus. * Use the {VOL+} {VOL -} buttons to change settings. * Some menus might have sub-addresses. Use the numeric buttons {0} to {7} to adjust sub-item data. * Press the {MENU} button or turn the TV off to exit.

The picture is oversized and the printing as in the stock ticker or in the sports scores can only be seen a little bit on the bottom. Can't find anyway to resize the picture.

Zenith sets, like most others now, are adjusted electronically through a service menu. You'll need your original remote control (or a Zenith-brand universal replacement with a MENU key) to access the menu. Press and hold the MENU button until the channel number and time display goes away, then press 9, 8 , 7, 6, ENTER. This puts you into service mode.

In service mode, CHANNEL UP and CHANNEL DOWN move through the different settings, and VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN change the values. Make sure you write down the original value of anything before you change it so you can put it back if necessary. One of the reasons the manufacturers hide the service menu is because the set can be damaged by incorrect settings to some of the parameters.

On some models, you can't get to all the parameters unless you change one called F MODE from 00 to 01. You might need to do this on yours.

The list of parameters varies by model and features. I haven't worked on a Zenith in a long time so I don't remember exactly what yours says, but you want to find two settings for V SIZE (vertical size) and V POS (vertical position). Adjust the size first by lowering the value until the top and bottom of the screen are black. Then adjust the position so the picture is centered (black strips close to equal size). Finally, increase the size until the picture fills the screen again. It's normal to adjust for a little overscan, meaning you push the top and bottom a little bit out of view. If you stop too soon, on some channels you might see flashing lines at the top of the picture.

When you're finished adjusting, turn the TV off to exit service mode. If you needed to change the F MODE setting, put it back to 00 first. Your picture should be properly sized after all this.

Zenith tv picture is larger than screen

There are Horizontal and Vertical size controls behind the back cover that need to be adjusted using a hand held tool. This adjustment requires a trained tech. High Voltage from the set is dangerous.
However, there maybe some limited controls that may help through the on screen menu.
To get into the setup menu, you need the original Remote that came with the TV.
Hold the Menu Key down until a box appears in the corner of the screen, then press 9,8,7,6 Enter. this takes you to the service menu. Just scroll through the items to find Horiz Size and Vert Size.
Good luck

Hold the 'Menu' button while turning the set on.
The code may also be inside the back cover.

KV-34XBR800 Reset everything in service menu

In the service menu or customer menus? On a Sony I wouldn't use a standard degausing coil as you will do damage to the CRT. Sony requires the use of a low power wand degauser.

Rca f36665 No picture but sound and menus work

This might be a simple problem or a more involved one and for that you will need the service manual to check different voltages,is good you are somehow familiar with electronic servicing, first you need to remove the back cover and reconect just the cable signal and the power cord, make sure the chassis is seated properly in whats left of the front cabinet then turn the set on and scan for channels if you still see no picture tap lightly with handle (not Metal)of a screwdriver in the chassis to see if the set reacts to your tapping if it does you will be looking for a loose conection and should be easier but if the set does not react you will need to order the service manual from ,in there you go to service manuals and put the model number, they will give you a price. Once you get the service manual you need to check the voltages to the signal processor IC to see if they are there specially the B+ supply to this IC.Let Us know if you have any more questions.

I have trinitron Sony Television.. i got some problem with my TV, the Vertical screen size gone out of focus... I want to know about remote control Commander Codes from which i can resolve my problem and...

I think what your asking is for an on screen service menu?? That wont fix your problem. It sounds like you have a vertical height problem where the screen doesnt fill the entire screen with the Picture. The adjustments wont go out like that for no reason and all by them selfs. The vertical sweep IC went bad and is going to have to be replaced. This is not a job for the end user. You should call an experienced tech to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
