Trouble with rollator brakes

When I intially bought a rollator for my great grandmother last year we put it together and apparently discarded the manual. Now no matter how I adjust the brakes (Loop brakes that are squeezed at the handle bars and are to tighten at the wheels) do not work to slow it down or lock the rollator in place. I'm assuming they need be replaced or adjusted further. My great grandfather actuall fell on 9/14/07 due to this, please help asap! CassyGibbons

Just got a 2nd hand rollarator for my Father-in-law and although the brakes work the parking brake on one side does not. The lever will move down part way but does not set the brake to on.

I have only just started to look into this but any help would be appreciated

How do I set and release the brakes

On most walkers the handle you squeeze to make the brakes work will push down. If you push them down the brakes will lock on and pull up to unlock.

How to adjust parking brake on winnie lite 3 wheel rollator

For openers "LOCKING" handles)...
Very GENTLY would be the first caution..

Unlike the brakes on those long ago bicycles we used to have... these WALKER BRAKES are pretty cheesy plastic...

None of the ones I've been compelled to work with have
interchangeable parts... SO BE GENTLE.

Look at both ends of the cable of the first wheel you want to adjust...

You are looking for a threaded sleeve with a nut on it...

If the brakes are too tight you will want to shorten the sleeve...
Too loose you will want to lengthen it (tightening the cable).

DO NOT overtighten...

These are all plastic... cheaply constructed... but EXPENSIVE to replace.

I have had to hand craft REPLACEMENT PARTS to repair these things (nothing is STANDARD (but the careless attitudes).

When you do break'em... AMAZON had the greatest selection...
(knowing the mounting diameter, and cable length is imperative
(sold in PAIRS)).

Brake rotor wear. why do the rotors have to be replaced so often. less than 2 years

Brake rotors absorb a tremendous amount of heat causing them to warp over time,,there are places who re-turn rotors using a metal lathe (where State Law Allows) turning of rotors cost from 10 to 20 dollars depending on stations,A good quality rotor made on composite metals usually lasts far longer than yours are apparently lasting

I got new brakes put on my car last year and theyre giving trouble again. i thought brakes lasted longer than that

It depends on the driver, the driving conditions, and the quality of the brake pads. A ot of stop and go driving will wear them out pretty fast. If the driver has habit of resting one foot on the brake pedal or riding the brakes, they will wear out very quickly. Poor quality brake pads or shoes do not last very long.

I installed a Heat-n-Glo 6000GLX with wall mount control 4 years ago. Has been trouble free till this year. Actually problem may have started last year where the flame would light then flame out in 3-5...

sounds like your control module is defective, put you hand on the control unit and see if you can feel the noise.

Computer won't boot up

Make sure that your power switch is connected to the correct pins on the motherboard. The LED you see lit may be the stand-by power indicator saying it has power and is waiting for the signal from the power switch.
