Don't bother, the motherboard is so old that its more or less pointless. The amount of time and money you'll spend repairing it in most cases is less than just purchasing a new motherboard, processor, and ram.

Unfortunately there is no repair manual for it, at least not publicly available. Most motherboards now are so easily replaced that people don't bother.

Au contraire, as all Intel motherboards have manuals, though repair is not recommended, repair is not a necessity, while troubleshooting may be. This particular series of Intel Boards is very well documented and socket 478 allows for some pretty fast Dual Core processors operating at up to and including 3.2 GHz, with the most notable problem being heat dissipation, for which certain state of the art heat processing systems work very well.

That is why I asked which OS and version.

While you're correct Maurice, just because the manuals exist, it doesn't mean that they're public. You'd be lucky to find a repair manual for any specific Intel motherboard. So unless you've gone to school for computer engineering, replacement is the better bet. Socket 478 also has its own problems, including power fluctuations and overheating problems. It's the socket for the energy hog intel processors. So while you might get a fast dual core (and in some cases if you spend the money a quad core processor) over all it'd be better to update to a new motherboard standard and new processor.

Need manual ipisb-vr rev 1.01

you have manuals for laptops and pc's but not for motherboards. you might want a circuit diagram if you're trying to repair the motherboard at component level but you need to be an authorised repair agent to get one.

M.2n68-cm repair will not boot

Hello you can download the manual here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2Plus/M2N68CM/#download

By selecting your windows system.
Open the manual folder and click on global for download.
You need to unzip the file and you also need adobe reader to read the content.
If the problem happened just over night the power supply could be dead.
Any beeb codes on startup ??
The ram module or the harddrive could also be failing.
These type of faults is not always the mainboard.

Good luck

I have a GE side by side Fridge that seems to get stuck in defrost mode and thaws the freezer out completely. When I tap the mother board with a screw driver it begins cooling again for a couple of days...

Yes I do believe your motherboard is very likely the problem. These motherboards are a common weak link for the GLS25 and all series of the Artica/Profile. Fact is any refrigerator that uses electronics to control mechnical and electrical functions has this weakness. Things that help cause this problem are failing compressor start components like start relay, start capacitor, defective condensor or evaporator fan motors and electrical surge.

Many times disconnecting power first and examine both sides of motherboard for signs of heat damage or burn marks. Sometimes you can see the bad sections of motherboard but not aloways. Click Here=> GE ARTICA PROFILE TECHNICAL INFORMATION
You will need Adobe Reader to open the service manual=> GE PSS26MSRSS Service Manual
This manual also covers your model. Acrobat Reader is available as a free download
If you have any questions or just need assistance in the repair I will be here to assist you, Thanks Sea Breeze
