You can use any MP3 player to store information other then a music file on them. Just keep in mind that you may not be able to read them from the player. For example my player will read txt files, but not doc files, so if I wanted to read them from my player, I would need to save in ascii format, as a .txt file. You should be able to export to txt from Word. If you just want to use it like a thumb drive, then any format is acceptable.

I need the firmware of the gc-822

You should be able to download the driver here:

Just select "GC-820" on the dropdown menu after "MP3 Players"
Then, click "Get Driver"
It should start downloading it to your computer.

(FYI: GC-820, GC-821, GC-822 and GC-823 are all the same model of MP3 player, they're just different colors)

Since you posted this under "Mac Laptops", though, I'm not sure the driver will help you out. According to Element Electronics' website (, it looks like the MP3 player is only compatible with Windows machines.
If you *are* on a Mac, try just plugging your MP3 player into the computer and see if your computer recognizes it.

Hope this helps!
I'm not sure if this MP3 player will work on a Mac though. Plug it in and see if it shows up in Finder.

Can I download documents onto my Philips GoGear MP3 4G?

You can use it as a thumb drive or like a flash drive to carry doc's to another computer. but I do not think it will open a document. If it does open text they will have to have a .txt extension.

My computer has not a cd rom. How can I put the driver of mp3 player element gc 822 on my computer.

its simple, look around for one of your friends that has a computer with CD Rom drive.

Copy the driver into the Computer (your friends own) and use a flash drive to copy the drivers from the computer to the flash drive.

After you copy it into a flash drive, insert the flash into your computer and use it to install your mp3 player.

I hope you are able to understand my message, if you don't, please let me know.

I wish you all the best.

I can't download music on my element mp3

It means that you saved the file to your computer, but didnt copy it to the MP3 player. Open a folder for each of them, then drag and drop the mp3's to the folder which has the music on them. The MP3 player is like a 4gb hard drive.

Computer wont read the dic that came with the element mp3 player

You really don't need it. XP/Vista will see the device as a storage device. Drag and drop MP3 files. If you want to do videos - google for AMV converter (It is a compressed native format and the only type the player will see and play.) You can get the same one that is in the manual for free online as well as several others.

Getting a e-book on a coby mpc7085

Ebook files are just play .TXT files. So basicall you type something out in regular notebook on your computer, save it as a .txt file. Once it is save on your computer:

1. Turn on Mp3 player, go to settings, make sure USB mode is set to MSC or USB DISK
2. Connect MP3 player to the computer
3. Go to 'Start' button, go to 'My Computer'
4. There should be a drive labeled removable disk, double click this drive.
5. inside this drive there should be a folder labeled EBOOK, drag your .TXT files to this location.
6. Disconnect MP3 player, go to Ebook menu and you should be able to read the book or TXT file.
