I could be that your battery ran out of juice. 6 cell batts can only charge upto 1000 charges then they die. Or it could be your internal laptop power supply.

good luck

I have an hp compaq 6720s and my charge port light blinks rapidly, it wont let me charge my battery and the computer wont turn on when the battery is full any thoughts?

Usually a rapid blinking charge light is alerting you of a battery fault. Try taking the battery out, plugging your computer in, and turning it on (with the battery out). If it boots up, then your battery is to blame, call customer service right away and see about getting a new battery.

When i boot up, my Compaq CQ20 displays the message that the battery has low storage capacity. Battery time is now down to 15 to 20 minutes at full charge.

If you laptop is more than two years old then it is possible that the battery is faulty as many of the compaq laptops have poor back up battery orr quality retained.
Check the adapter on the PC , check if the adapter charges the battery to full capcity , now if this charge wont lat more than 20 minutes , you might need a new one.
Discharge the battery fully and charge few times as the last resort.

Battery wont work

The battery is dead and it won't charge or hold its charge (all rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles). You need to buy a new battery, or just use the laptop connected to the mains supply.
