We have a RCA Digital HDTV, when you hit the power button the tv sounds like its turning on but a picture never shows up. as long as the power button is turned on it still sounds like the tv is on. How can this be fixed and what could be broken???
Lcd lamps blown, inverter bad.
Try pressing menu to see if you get on screen display,if you get display you have a input problem,check all connections to tv.if that doesn't help i need more info on you're tv setup.

No there is no menu that shows up we have tryed that absoluty no picture comes on it just sounds like the tv is on when you turn it off then it dosnt make any sound. i dont know what makes the picture come on so i dont know what it could be? its 5 years old is there any thing that normal would make the picture go out that can be replaced?
I have a 1 year old 37" Polaroid LCD T.V. Last night we were watching it and the picture went off. We can use the remote and change channels and it gives a description with what is showing, there is sound just no picture.
I have sound and can turn the channels but have no picture.Hit all the different buttons on the remote but nothing helps?
