POSSSIBLE BAD LID SWITCH OR DRIVE MOTOR TO TRANSMISSION COUPLING IS BROKEN POST MODEL NUMBER PLEASE

  • Anonymous Apr 18, 2009

go to www.repairclinic.com enter your model number and look for part 1195967 this is located between your motor and transmission. to check it out lay the washer on it's back and remove 2 pump retaining clips move pump out of way, next remove 2 motor retaining clips and motor will come out easily check this part out and if any fingers are broken or cracked change it out. If this part is ok re-assemble and change your lid switch. while you have this down clean out your washer's lint catcher part 541811. to see this part scroll down to the red 100 click it and start looking for it. to change the lid switch remove the 2 screws on the control panel and slide it forward and up, now undo the lid switch connector(it looks like it goes through the top panel down, then remove the 2 brass looking clips and pull the top toward you till the bottom disengages. Now cahnge lid switch and wn you re-assemble be sure bootom of cabinet has engaged fully before lowering top back.

My Hotpoint wf000 1000 spin model won't spin. It goes through a full wash cycle, agitates fine, but just won't spin at the end of the wash. Any help appreciated.

Sorry if it may be too obvious, but have you checked the philtre? generally they stop spinning when it's stuffed... when you open it, make sure you have a mop and bucket handy, some water will come out!

My Defy Automaid DAW285 only works when you put in a small load of washing

It seems that the "start" winding of the motor is defective or the capacitor is defective

Model fwt645rhso will agitate but won't drain out, on spin cycle washer spins one way, stops goes back the other way, but water will not drain out. Does not rapidly spin on final cycle. Any...

There's an auxiliary switch in the door lock.switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. The machine will NEVER advance to the spin cycle unless the auxiliary switch is activated as a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during a high-speed spin cycle that may result in physical injury. The drum tumbles back and forth while the machine control checks the auxiliary if activated but since it's not, the control will not command the motor speed control to spin the drum at high speed. These symptoms may indicate a faulty door lock/switch assembly and may need replacement. Click on the links below for the detailed troubleshooting instructions and replacement of the door lock/switch assembly.

Won't spin out the water

If your problem is that it won't go into an accelerated spin cycle at the end, check the settings. Most washers just let water drain out the bottom when they have finished cleaning.

At the end of the cycle prior to spinning the washer sometimes doesn,t start to spin, it just makes sounds like it,s trying to spin but won,t catch. If I open and close the lid it begins it,s proper cycle....

The timer is not allowing a cycle stop for the neutral pack to drop. Replace the timer and you should be in good shape. The whistling sound is likely something in the pump.

Washer will not spin The washer is a frigidaire front loader model LTF2140E53. will cycle through all settings, but will not spin. Cycle ends with clothes soaked.

I have thata probelm a lot too. I have read that the controls don't sense that the door fully shut. You might try slamming it shut, jiggling the door, poking in the hole where the latch goes. When mine won;t spin, slamming and jiggling works.
