Question about Garden
I have a craftsman lawnmower with a tecumseh engine, model #917.377580. 6.75hp. I was having a problem starting my mower when ever it was hot. It seemed to load up with gas and flood out. So i replaced the float, needle and seat etc. because on this carb it is sold as a unit. the bowl is held on by a clip from the upper half of the carb. There is no bolt that screws up into the center of the bowl like on most carbs , just a plastic tube inside that goes up into the carb. Anyway I cleaned the upper half and blew out all holes and attached the bowl half. Now I am having trouble keeping it running and if it does run the engine surges. Could this bowl unit be defective, I see no adjustments for the float and needle to let more gas in. What kind of carb is this? I am not familiar with it and have no idea how to make adjustments. please help.
There are no adjustments for the carb., however, in the bolt that holds the bowl on, there is a small hole in the threads that must be clean in order for it to run right. It is a real small hole on either the 3rd or 4th thread from the top.
Hope this helps
