Question about Olympus FE-210 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Memory card stopped the camera working

I recently bought an Olympus FE-210 and an Olympus XD 1GB card, which I was told would work well with my camera. I put it in exactly as the directions stated, and when I turned it on and tried to take pictures, it took a long time to take the pictures, and none of the other buttons work. I can't view pictures, I can't go to the menu, and when I try to zoom in, it just zooms back out. I tried plugging it in to my computer to try and download the picture, and it turns on and goes to the menu, but won't let me press any buttons. There was nothing I could find in the troubleshooting section in the manual, other than to take the card out and put it back in (which I have tried numerous time, to no effect).

I am expecting my first child in a few months, and would like to have my camera working to document this amazing event. Please help if you can!

A 1 GB card is SMALL - and is likely very very slow in saving pictures. you may want to tryt to get a different, larger memory card

SOURCE: Olympus 2G xd M card with pictures - error message "clean card" or format

Just had the same issue today. The Olympus Helpdesk told me that the fact I had printed one of the picture from the Xd card in directly inserting the card in the printer slot for Xd created the problem....
The guy from the Helpdesk strongly recommended to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer exclusively using the USB cable of the camera.
In the end I have saved all my 505 pictures in using the Smart Recovery from PC Inspector but why the hell this problem only happens with Xd cards?

Format problems of Olympus 1Gb card with C-750UZ

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb card is not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

Memory stick problems

Try taking memory card to someone with a card reader on their computer, if it's going to work then a reader will get it to work. If it doesn't work then reformatting is the least expensive option, unless you take it to Specialists to have it analyzed. If card won't format then it probabaly has gone bad.

Memory card

The Olympus FE-120 uses an xD-Picture card.   Here is a linkyou can use to shop for the cards. Looks like the cheapest card is about $7.00 and has a 64mb capacity. The prices go on up to about $30.00 for a 1gig capacity.

These cards are all OLYMPUS brand cards and they are all supported by your camera, up to 2gig.
