Question about Nikon D60 Digital Camera
I just bought a nikkor 70-300 af lens for my nikon d-60, but it will not autofocus.. all of the other lenses i put on this body will, so i know it's not the body.. any suggestions?
There is a known defect in some of the Nikkor lens' that were manufactured during a certain time period. The same thing happened to my lens.. it stopped autofocusing for no reason at all. (It was purchased in May 08). I shipped it to Nikon and I received a new lens within 10 days of shipment. You have a 3 year warranty on the camera and the lens'. Nikon has AMAZING customer support when it comes to legitimate issues.
Go to the web site. Fill out a repair order and send the lens to them exactly as stated in the instructions. You will have a new lens within 2 weeks.

I had this problem with my canon. i put the lens on manual ande took a few shots focusing manually. then i switched it back over and it was working again. ultimately there is a problem with the motor in the lens. so, i would return it if this doesn't work for you. good luck
