Question about Sony Vaio VGN-SZ660N/C Notebook
I smashed mine and ordered a replacement screen but told them the wrong model #. They are very similar but not sure if they are the same. I hope so cos they do not exchange them :(
Not good! Each laptop LCD screen has it's own backlight inverter. The cable of wires coming from the inverter, has a connector, or two connectors. They must match up to the one/s on the LCD screen.
A person would think, "Well. I'll just buy the inverter that matches this LCD screen then. They're relatively cheap!"
Doesn't work that way. The inverter cable/s must match the connector/s coming out of the laptop.
What to do? Remove the LCD screen bezel, and remove the flat strip of plastic, in front of the keyboard, (Below the LCD screen), and find out.
No? Doesn't match up? Sell that LCD screen on Ebay. Recover some of your money or all.
Buy the right LCD screen.
In the meantime, should their be documents, or whatever that you need to access, you can plug an external monitor in.
Would appreciate it if you would rate this solution.
