Question about Toshiba Satellite P35-S609 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a Toshiba Satellite P35-S609. I upgraded Windows XP Pro to Vista Ultimate. Three devices stopped working in full capacity: 1. The ATI Mobilityy Radeon 9100 IGP video driver was not found - therefore it now uses a standard VGA wista driver. Where can I find a compatible driver to regain full use of the graphics card? 2. The Matshita DVD RAM UJ820S no longer plays DVDs. Where can I find a compatible driver to regain DVD usage. 3. The touch pad mouse no longer works In all three instances I can not find driver updates on Toshiba's website or from using Driver Detective. Can you help? Thanks

Not all PC are capable of running Vista at its full potential. This is not a Microsoft fault, but equipment manufaturers not supplying the drivers for older hardware. I recommend you to run the Vista Upgrade Advisor from the Microsoft website, to see if your laptop can run (that flavor of) Vista.

Replace the AC Adapter, (ebay from £10.00).
Did it come with XP on it? Mine came with Vista and there are conflicts with XP and graphic adapters. There is no XP driver for the ATI adapter in mine.
Go online to Toshiba and download all of the updated drivers that you require. A user friendly system.

Toshiba satellite p35-s609 screen darken.

It is almost certainly the LCD inverter which is the cause of your issue. It ism ore common for the inverter to develop a fault than a backlight bulb on the LCD (I used to work in a Toshiba repair centre).
Replacing the inverter should be simple, just make sure the unit is powered off with the battery removed so you don't get an electric shock.
Hope this helps,

I want to change the operating system wimdows vista to windows 07 from K.ganesh kumar 09441089186

You have 2 options (purchase)
1. upgrade the win vista to win 7 - you need to check the type of win vista that you have if it is 32 or 64 bit or HOME BASIC HOME PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL ULTIMATE
home basic is not win 7 upgrade supported.

2. Win 7 OS full version disk.

Back up all of your files before doing anything on your computer.

I have a toshiba p35 s611 with the os changed from xp home to xp pro. Now the media player plays full screen and will not close. Only Alt+F4 will close it. I have the ATI's Mobility Radeon 9000 drivers...

Look in device manager to see which drivers you need. The ATI drivers are kind of picky so look in device manager to get the exact hardware names that are marked with yellow or red. With the upgrade you lost some drivers and will have to get them on the web with the names listed in device manager

Toshiba

If you upgraded from XP to Vista and didn't exceed the minimum system requirements for Vista, then that is why your laptop is "struggling to work". You should have done a compatibility check before the upgrade to see what upgrades you might have needed to install Vista, such as RAM (usually adding the maximum amount of RAM that your MotherBoard will accept/recognize will get you going with Vista. Otherwise to get your laptop back to speed you can reinstall XP (XP runs on a lot less resources than Vista requires). You mention a graphics card, and I can't imagine one that would require you to upgrade to Vista yet, though I could be wrong.
Good Luck.
