Question about Lexmark X8350 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have an issue with the size of the PDF files produced after scanning. They are so large that I cannot send in an email. I forward PDFs with 50plus pages all the time, so why is my 3 or 4 page scan too large to send. I have to scan page by page onto the clipboard and paste in into a word document. But even then the files are very large and I can only use a few scans in each document, making it very difficult with multiple pages.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just how it is supposed to be?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Lexmark X7350 Scan feature
well you are able to scan multiple documents.. but the file size is more.. the way lexmark software writes the pdf file.. the file will be huge for PDF... but not sure if this is a case with any other all in one manufacturer like HP also... but i would assume it would be the same.. so scan the file to MS WORD or any other application that supports multiple pages... so u have it as one file... but if u want only pdf files, then u have to do a little work around like writing the MS WORD Document to pdf format. If the PDF Writer is not installed with your copy of MSWORD then try any free pdf writer software available on the internet.

SOURCE: Scan multiple page with X4550
The 4550 will not allow multi page scanning into a single doc using the provided software. You should try another scan software that is TWAIN or WIA compatible. Those should work okay if you are using a USB connection.

SOURCE: can't scan to PDF
I would suggest scanning each page into their own file, convert each into a .pdf, and then using a free program to combine the .pdf pages.

If the documents you are scanning are black and white, make sure you are selecting that in the scanner dialogue box. If you need to keep gradiants, but don't need color, try selecting grayscale. If you are adjusting your DPI (dots per inch) to the maximum (300), try using something lower (recommend 150). Lastly, check the settings in the software you use to create PDFs to ensure they are the same as what you use at the office.
