Question about GE Dishwashers

1 Answer

I have a pot scrubber 600. I just replaced the water line. I had to disconnect the electric wire to service the unit. Everything is running except the water doesn't fill, and there is an awful buzz from the actuator for the water discharge. What is going on? The water valve is on but doesn't fill.

I sounded a little hasty with the problem. I should follow-up that the work I did was pretty straight forward. I assembled the power supply wires correctly before the breaker switch was turned back on. I left the base plate off the view underneath for any leaks. I made sure no kinks in the water line or discharge line happened. I am befuddled.

So tell...me...you replaced the water line why......its probably moot as to why you did it....just realize that the large majority of no water problems are due to a wire off or loose on a water solenoid valve or a bad solenoid....I am going to provide you with possibilities as to why there is no water....how to determine....which...and what to do...as well as a li9nk....hope it helps....

I would check your fill valve screen, where your water line connects tothe dishwasher, lots of times i will see that screen clogged, especially on customers homes that have wells.

There is no way to change the fill time on these.
Thereis also the potential problem with the float sticking if it is gunkedup it will not allow water in...see that it moves up and down freelyand you should here a clicking noise.....If it is not one of thesethere could be a problem...with the timer...I am providing a link thatwill help walk you through this problem in a moretechnical...manner...if you are not comfortable performing thesetests...i suggest you fore go it and let a tech handle it....

this is one continuous link.....you can scroll down until you see the won't issue.
I hope this helps ..good luck, have a good day& please rate my effort......The Fang

Everything normal on my GE Profile Model PFSF6PKWBBB French door bottom freezer refridgerator except the water dispenser just quit dispensing water. Is it frozen? How do I fix it?

The paddle that you push the glass against to dispense water activates a microswitch. Sometimes this switch can break off it's mount and drop away from it's intended position. The microswitch operates a solenoid valve near where the water line enters the back of the fridge. Then there's the wiring in between them. The water line doesn't go through the freezer. It runs through the refrigerator in a coil of tubing then into the door of the dispenser. Check the paddle switch, the water solenoid and the wiring and you'll find the reason it doesn't work

The door on our GE Pot Scrubber dishwasher - just

You will have to pull the dishwasher out after disconnecting the water pipe and power.

Simply make a new loop on the broken spring or buy new ones from an appliance dealer and reconnect the spring.

My GE pot scrubber won't fill with water, all kof

you are probably in need of a new water inlet valve part #WD15X10003, should be around $35.00. this valve opens up at the proper time on the timer to let the water into the machine. hope this helps.

I have removed the push to talk button and replaced it with a volume pot but need a wiring diag. from the element to the pot to the XLR. Also, is it possible to wire this to convert it to high impedance?...

The impedance of these mics is around 180 ohms which means you would probably use a pot around 300 to 600 ohms and with an audio taper.

This is NOT a good plan from an engineering standpoint as adding impedance to the balanced mic can allow electrical noise pickup.

The only way to get high impedance is by use of a transformer or a preamplifier. You DON NOT want to run high impedance lines over any distance as they are more subject to noise pickup.

The transformer should be at the far end of the cable run from the microphone. KEEP the impeedance of the cable from the mic LOW until right before a high impedance input amplifier.

is a connection between your controller and the unit disconnect the controller and see if it runs if not then it could be the PCB board. check your wires for bad connections on the remote as well

I need to unplug and move a built-in Maytag dishwasher

Follow these steps:

1. Locate the electrical service breaker for your appliance and turn it off at the breaker panel. If it is plugged in by a serivce outlet, unplug the unit.
2. Turn off the water source under the sink.
3. Disconnect the drain line under the sink.
4. Remove the lower panel under the dishwasher door.
5. Locate the small electrical junction box under the dishwasher and disconnect the wires leads. Remember, standard household wiring is as follows: BLACK (HOT - 110-120VAC), WHITE (NEUTRAL - 0VAC, GREEN (or bare copper) is GROUND. Make sure you reconnect the wires in this fashion with wire lug nuts. If you have a local outlet plug you may leave the wiring instact.
6. Locate the fill valve (Usually on the left hand side of the dishwasher). This is where the water supply line connects. Disconnect the water supply line from the fill valve.
7. The dishwasher should have a couple of mounting screws located where the top of the dishwasher cabinet meets the underside of the cabinet.
8. With everything removed, the dishwasher should now be free and slide out from under the cabinet.

Let me know if you have further questions. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: You can also remove the water supply line at the fitting under the sink if it makes things easier.

check list
1.check the clamp on the pipe where water line connects
is the hole clogged (water turned off)wont take long
2.Is water flowing all the way to resevoir after turnnig water on
loosen line at reservoir
3.jiggle float water should enter the reservoir inlet to float valevel
somestime cake up,clean float off
4.Remove pump cap clean impeller and standpipe
5.clean reservoir,and close everything up

Usually the hole in the pipe is clogged up in step 1 or the float is sticking if there is no evidence of water in the reservoir
