1997 dodge neon/smelling antifreeze through me vents when i turn, also i have another thing wrong when i hit bumps sometimes the rear end of the car jutters and wants to swing a bit to the left, could it be a broken spring or maybe the shock is gone? It seems to hit hard sometimes when i hit a hole or a bump in the road, but the shocks still feel stiff and the rear of the car doesnt seem to be sagging or anything and it is still stiff when i push down on the trunk.its not bouncy like when the springs are worn out. any idea?

Sounds like a snapped or broken spring, you need to get them checked asap as could be dangerous.
As for antifreeze, are you sure you havent put screenwash in recently as this can smell very strongly of Alcohol.

Marc

Antifreeze smell from vents

you probably have a leak in your heater core. the white smoke is steam from the hot antifreeze. alhough I am not a mechanic, this a fairly straight foward diagnosis. you need a mechanic soon, before your engine overheats & destroys itself. I hope this is not too late!

My 1997 Dodge Neon heats up sometimes, but there is not any pattern to it, as in sometimes it is hot out, sometimes cool, sometimes I am in town going slow and stopping and starting, and sometimes on the...

My neon would be bubbling in the resevoir when I stoped, I replaced the radiater, thermostate, hoses,
and it was still doing it? Finaly replaced the radiater cap and that solved the problem! Also you could have air in the system too? here is how to purge your system. Make sure your car is cooled down so you won't get burned, take off you radiater cap, Drain your antifreeze out of your radiater at the cockpit, about a gallon, close your cockpit, Jack the front end of your car up high so the radiater is higher than the thermostate housing, have a funnel ready to pour your antifreeze back in at the radiater cap throat, roll your windows down, and turn you heater on high! start your engine and slowly pour you
antifreeze back in untill full, when you start seeing it start to come out and can't get anymore in put your new radiater cap on, let the car run for 20 minutes with heater on high, after your fans kick on and stop, when engine is warmed up, turn your car off. Lower your car and check to make sure resivoir is at full mark. I hope this helps it worked for me!

Dodge Neon 2004 has a sweet smell coming from the vents which I believe is from the heater core going bad. However, if I turn on the heater even on low, my battery light comes on, what's up with that?

Yes, you're correct, that sweet smell is likely antifreeze.
You're alternator is also starting to give out on you, and you should replace it soon, or you will also need a new battery.
That light will come on when there isn't enough juice to power everything you have powered up, the heater motor is probably whats putting it over the top. Go to an auto parts store and have them check it for you, you'll likely find that the voltage is around 11 or 12 and should be at 13 or 14.

How do i fix a gas leak

there is a flexible rubber coupling between the tank and the filler nozzle .. thats the most likely thing to have been damaged .. check the clamps at both ends and replace the rubber tube if its bad ... if not then there could be a hole in the tank maybe caused by a rock hit (sometimes rust) ... there is a special epoxy stick that works with gas (any auto parts store) .. you can patch a small hole in the tank but not in the flexible coupling ... of course you should fix this before something bad happens ... run the tank near empty if you plan on taking it to a garage for repairs .. the tank is too heavy loaded with fuel ..
