I have installed a bluetooth scanner program on an HP Pavilion dv4 and it won't open. Is it possible that this laptop does not come equipped with Bluetooth?

Look in the control panel (software). You should readily see the bluetooth devices installed. Chance are if your computer is older than 3 years it does not have blue tooth. You can usually upgrade this by installing a chip under the keyboard.

Since you only put dm1, go to this page and pick exactly which one of the 107 different models of dm1 you own and click on it. At the Drivers page, select the proper operating system (xp/vista/w7) you are using and you'll be shifted to the complete list of drivers for your computer.

You want to download the "bluetooth stack/software,driver (whatever...lol)" for your laptop and install it.

For this kind of issue, please follow up the following steps to check:

1.confirm the battery and ac adapter connect the laptop normally.Maybe the bad connect lead to this problem. If there are no lights when you turn on laptop, one of possible reason is that your adapter is malfunction.

Check ALL cables, try another cord/charger. Change AC outlet. Is the battery in? Is it charging? remove battery, Has the laptop been pulled by the cord damaging the AC jack?

It doesn't start at all. Can you see something on screen ? Have you tried to remove the battery and charger and press power buton for 30 seconds ? And put back the battery ? Try also to check RAM Memory

I had a HP Pavilion DV4 1140go model laptop and I had my hinge broken on one side do I get the replacing part for that

You have to order the part from HP or find it on Ebay. If you get it from HP, www.hp.com, they usually provide a diagram on how to open the machine and replace it. This also happens with some purchases on Ebay but not very often.

Hi

the bluetooth switch is quite often next to the wireless switch with a bluetooth sign beside or on it
all laptops dont have bluetooth on it at all

now then if you find the switch and turned it on and it still dont work
go to start programes and try windows updates

it may find the driver for you
make sure you are completly up do date with them

and if still no go then go to

www.hp.com go to support/downloads enter your make model and operating system
and look for the bluetooth driver

if u can do it try to open the screen cover remove the LCD screen clean it then fix it if possible do not put the screw very *** if docent work then u have to change the screen the problem may be the LCD screen

If you have no experience with opening an repairing computers or laptops I recommend you take the computer to an HP Laptop Service center. If you understand the issues involved you can order a cooling fan from HP and install it yourself as long as you keep track of the screws in the outer case and where they go as well as any cabling.
