Question about Washing Machines

Washer won't spin properly

My washer kenmore part #110.23692200 won't spin properly. it does spin but sometimes very slow and we can't put a full load in because it doesn't spin fast enough. When the cycle is finished the close is very heavy and still wet. I heard it could be belt or transmission. I can't seem to find a diagram anywhere for this unit. Can someone point me in the right direction

GO TO www.repairclinic.com ENTER MODEL NUMBER AND LOOK AT PART 1195967 THIS IS LOCATED BETWEEN THE MOTOR AND THE TRANSMISSION. CLICK ON THE PIC AND LOOK AT ADDITIONAL VIEWS SO YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS SUPPOSE TO LOOK LIKE. NOW TAKE YOUR WASHER SOMWHERE WHERE IT CAN BE LAID ON IT'S BACK AND REMOVE THE PUMP HELD ON BY 2 RETAINER CLIPS. sLIDE PUMP OFF OF MOTOR SHAFT AND SET ASIDE. NOW REMOVE THE 2 MOTOR MOUNTING CLIPS AND MOTOR WILL COME OFF EASILY. IF ANY OF THE FINGERS ARE BROKEN OR CRACKED REPLACE THE PART. I have a front loader washer Kenmore Elite Model #796.40311900 that spins SLOW, not FAST as it should on spin. The digital readout works normally.

sounds like maybe drain filter is plugged and unit is not draining fast enough. if you have drain access in front pull it out and clean it.

Diagnostics ok but only spins slow

Water pump screen is plugged. Will not drain properly even though it goes into high spin.

Kenmore 90 plus series washer won't spin, barely agitates, will drain - but makes loud noise

It sounds like the transmission is done. Can't pinpoint what it is exactly, but I would start there.

We put a heavy blanket in the washer and the load stopped suddenly with a washer full of water. It wouldn't spin or empty and made a weak sound but nothing worked. We had to manually empty the water....

Usually that means the drive belt is loose and slipping. You should be able to tighten or replace the belt.
To test the belt you have to remove the washer back.

Washer will not spin properly

Try this:
The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too.
