Question about Light Outboard Motor Boat Bass Fishing Saltwater Base
I had a similar problem with my merc., turned out to be overheating due to a worn water pump impeller. It would overheat and die, then after it cooled down, would restart. Check to see if you are getting a good stream of water out of the, for lack of a better term, "****", usually located at the bottom of the powerhead, on the rear of the motor. If it\'s just dribbling, dripping, or dry you need a new impeller.

What Year? Have the coils checked, they are located under the flywheel, some have been known to act up over time due to heat because of age. They time between dieing and restart souns like they had time to cool off until overheating again
