Question about Nespresso D300 Espresso Machine

Just says 'fill water'

Hi I have just been given a Nespresso Magimix M300 (also called D300 I think) by a friend and it was working fine at her house. Now I've cleaned it all up, put water in the tank but when I turn it on it keeps saying 'fill water'. Obviously it thinks the water tank is empty and the water is not going to wherever it is meant to go. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Hi guys, thanks for this tip.

I cannot seem to let water run through it anyway. I am using the tap on
the right side, and I dont know if i am doing it rightly. You guys
mention that I should let water run through but without using the froth
    feature.

I have no froth button or anything, all i got is the four buttons on
the front display, and the tap on the right side. I can twist the tap
on the right side 90 degrees towards myself, and then it says "water"
in the display, and soon after that wants more water.

Hmm.. what am i doing wrong?

    Best regards,

    Frederik

Hi,
This message appears everytime the machine empties itself of water.  You need to prime it.  The suggestion above to run water through it the steam wand is the right one.  No need to descale it!
Good luck!

Thanks for this. I did this plus some more descaling and it seems to be working, although it continually tells me it needs descaling now!

This has happened to me. try opening the steam wand (but without the steam function turned on) to force hot water out. that usually gets it going for me.

These machines cannot be repaired. Just get another one or trade it in. Either it works or it doesn't.

Hi My Nespresso M300 has started tripping the RCD power protector in my house. Any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem ?

Check no water has got into the machine or into the power connector. If the power cord is removable like the one on a kettle with the same connector you could try using this on the machine and see if it works. The chances are there is probably a fault in the heating element allowing current to leak causing the RCD to trip and you may need to have this replaced.

Nespresso Magimix M300 'Fill Water'

it just means that the pump needs primed. Turn on at the wall and on the machine, wait until screen says ready (make sure water tank full), then turn steam handle on RHS to on (do not push the steam button). the pump will prime until water comes out of the steam nozzle. now turn off the steam handle and you are ready to go!
