Hi,
I've had my Emerson 27'' flat screen for 3 years now. Lately, I have been having problems with the screen. Almost immediately upon turning the TV on, the screen widens out and I lose some of the picture on the right and left edges. It is almost as if it stretches out too far across the screen. Needless to say, it is very annoying. Is there anything that can be done that won't cost too much?

Hi,
I dont have the same TV ( I have a Sansui flatscreen furatto 21 eye - probably a local name as well as model 1000w PMPO digital tv), but i seem to have the same problem of the screen widening out constantly , more so at the corners. I am a qualified Mech engineer and in my line of work (marine) deal with electrical problems constantly so I tried fiddling around with the adjusting plates at the end of the tube, but it made no difference. However, I did notice that when my screwdriver came close to them (with the tv on) the picture did improve, but with a change in picture colour such as more green. Do you think I need to change the PCB at the end of the tube? Thanx in anticipation!
but if it stretchs out & lose some of the picture on the right and left edges it might be due to horizontal output section.
1 loose contact in connector.
2 some capacitor might be defective in h/section
caution
please do not open the set unless you know about high voltage in tv set.
