Question about Emerson EWF2703 27" TV

Screen Widens Out Constantly

Hi, I've had my Emerson 27'' flat screen for 3 years now. Lately, I have been having problems with the screen. Almost immediately upon turning the TV on, the screen widens out and I lose some of the picture on the right and left edges. It is almost as if it stretches out too far across the screen. Needless to say, it is very annoying. Is there anything that can be done that won't cost too much?

Re: Screen Widens Out Constantly

You might be getting more supply from regulated power supply if you get wide pictureor width have to be adjusted by width control. but if it stretchs out & lose some of the picture on the right and left edges it might be due to horizontal output section. 1 loose contact in connector. 2 some capacitor might be defective in h/section caution please do not open the set unless you know about high voltage in tv set.

Need a romote code for HRS URC-383 for my emerson 27 inch flat screen.

If you are using Sky Remote then you can try to use these codes 0742, 0205 or 0206 for you Emerson TV which will work on all versions of the handset.

these are usually generic codes and may well work on the HRS URC-383 remote as well

There is only a 1" horizontal line on my tv screen.

This is a problem with the vertical circuit and is either the vertical IC or a few capacitors that have failed in the same circuit. If you can solder you should be able to fix this yourself. The part cost will be in the $20-$40 range.

Update this if you wish to attempt the repair and I'll supply additional details and instructions.

I had the same problem it ended up being the speakers I had on top of my tv, so I had to move them. If you have anything on top of your tv with a signal move it. :)

TV Powered Off, won't come back on

mine did the same thing, I took it to a TV repair store and they said it was a power surge which damaged the power source board. (possibly caused by lightening)
total cost to repair was $70.00 well worth since was only couple years old.
TV is working well.------we'll see for how long????

Volume is not working correctly...getting lower

Is your set connected to a cable box? If so then the box itself could be causing your problem. Some of the boxes have their own volume controls. Otherwise you could have a problem anywhere from the rf input to the audio amplifier section. A tuned circuit could be drifting off frequency in the tuned part of the audio circuits. You'd need to have it checked out by a technician. Stargazer
