Question about RCA Lyra RD1071 MP3 Player

1 Answer

No free space

My player had 1 MB of space left so I took off all the songs that were on the player so that it says there are 0 tracks. When I connect it to a computer it still tells me that there is only 1 MB free and 123 MB used. I have tried it on 3 different computers and nothing changes. Should I format it? What can I do?

It cleared up the space, but now the player won't recognize that there are any songs on it. I have a feeling that formatting made the problem worse than before.

If you're going to take everything so personal then don't put yourself out on a public forum. I assumed the formatting would erase everything on the unit, but that the unit would maintain some of the settings to allow me to restock it.

I appreciate the help, but only with it had helped.

Yes, a format should solve the problem. Plug the unit in to USB and go to my computer, it should show up as removalbele dics drive f:, right click and select format, a "quick format" should work. L8R Good Luck

That's because a format erases everything on the unit, you need to reload it, what exactly did you think a format would do, thanks for rating me not helpful, would have been better off not posting anything! I was clearly trying to help.

When i turn my sansa fuze on it says "not enough space for music db please free 90mb"and turns back off..how am i able to get it to wrk again?

Hello,

When the player is rearranging playlists of the music database, it is possible that there's not enough memory left in the player to finish the task.
Connect the player with your computer to delete some files, at least 90 MB, off the Fuze to make it work again.
When not having a backup of the songs, save them onto the computer first.

I have a thump 512. Want to add music to the 25-5 MB (on average) songs on it in MP3 format, but when i drag new songs to it, it says it has no space left. I deleted a couple of songs, but that didn't

That's because no offence but it has rubbish memory. 25mb is nothing these days. Most songs are 9-15mb themselves these days, and so no wonder you have no space left.

Not enough space for music db. Please free 6 MB.

If you have formatted there is no music on the player. You will have to re-sync any the music. Set the USB mode to MTP, then Use Windows Media Player 10 or higher to sync player.

1 gb mp3 player not working

Same thing happened to me. I was using windows media player to sync my song and it says my player was using 260 mb of space even though it was formatted time after time. I simply loaded as many song as I could fit on the player. When I unplugged it and plugged it back in, windows media now showed that missing 260 mb of space as available. The only catch is that the song I had already uploaded on to the player were not shown on the sync list.

"formatting problem"

I had a similar problem, I could upload songs, but they wouldn't play and I couldn't delete them. turned out it was cause I didn't have WMP10 installed on my PC, had an older version. the user manual states it only works with WMP10, and after I installed it (just search for windows media player 10 on the microsoft website) I was able to use the synch function in WMP10 and all the songs are playable (I'm listening to an album as I type :D)
