Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My screen blinks dark for a sec every tme i plugin and unplug the charger

That is your laptop switching between power settings and is nothing to worry about. Laptops have 2 power settings basically. Full power when plugged in and a power saving mode when running on battery. One setting is screen brightness which changes. Probably what you are noticing.

I would like to reduce brightness on my ASUS VH242H

Actually, the problem isn't with the drivers. Right click on the battery icon in your system tray. Select "Power Options" (NOT Power4Gear eXtreme). On the right panel, select "Adjust the display brightness." Then, select "Change advanced power settings." Scroll down and open up the "Display" box. The options that are affecting your screen brightness on battery are "Allow SmartDimmer to reduce my brightness after," "Have SmartDimmer reduce my brightness by," and "SmartDimmer full-screen video mode." Playing with the percentages in these boxes will affect how your screen brightness adjusts itself. To get my screen to stop re-brightening itself, I changed "Allow SmartDimmer to reduce my brightness after/ On Battery:" to 100%. I then changed "Have SmartDimmer reduce my brightness by/ On battery:" to 0%. Finally, I set "SmartDimmer full-screen video mode/ On battery:" to Maximum Power Saving. This should solve your screen-rebrightening problems even with the 163.44 drivers (I use those too). Please Rate.

The screen saver is set to save mode. use the settings functionality of disable or reesatblsih system settings. a possible battery full charge after powering off device completely shoudl provide the capacity to hold splash screens with phone call display all at once.

Can't watch movies in full screen view when running on battery

It might be on a power saving plan. You can change it if you want to but running it on battery while watching movies will drain the battery fast. Anyway, right-click the battery icon on lower right of the screen or search for power options. You can see what plans your laptop is saved to. Choose balanced or high performance or recommended settings.

Screen is dull while on ac power. When running on battery screen brightens up but battery does not last long. Power supply is supplying 19.17 volts which but on the power supply is written 18.5 volts.

ery adjusting your brightness via the function keys on the keyboard also under power settings see if screen is set to save energy when using ac power usually this is set to save power when on batteries it just might be reversed on your machine

Batteray does not last long? any seetings to be done to save bartery life? please let me know

If you're using Vista, you'll have a long list of options that can be modified to extend battery life. Go into Power Options(either thru control panel or thru the battery icon in the system tray). Go to change plan settings and then to Advanced plan settings. There you can change most settings.
Try harddisk, wireless adapter, multimedia, usb and Processor power management. These will surely extend battery retention. If you're in Windows XP, you'll have similiar settings.
