Question about Fisher Paykel EcoSmart GWL15

My washing machine over fills then begins the agitating cycle but the water continues to enter the machine until it comes over the top

I have a F&P Washer Model GWL15. Replaced the water inlet control valves. The machine fills with the right amount of water but when it should start the agitator, in the washing cycle, the motor never starts. I can manually advance to the rinse cycle but the motor will still not run. The water pump runs to drain the hopper. A beeping continues, one beep every second. I tried unplugging and restarting with same results. Could the motor be bad? Thank You.

My wahser just stopped working it filled with water and then started agitating and then all the sudden stopped please help

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water

Washer keeps filling w/ water, only stops when changed to spin

Your drain line is too low.
OR the drain line is restricting air where it enters the drain stand pipe.
Remove the drain line and hold it up high.
Turn the washer on to fill. It should fill then stop.
This example should explain what you must do to correct the drain line problem.

GE washing machine does not run, gives humming noise

A washing machine is a simple product.

When trouble shooting anything you have to know what is supposed to do and what is it not doing.

At the begining of a washing machine cycle the machine fills with water until a switch is made telling the machine it is full and ready to agitate. Since it never fills it will stick in that part of the cycle.

When you start a cycle and no water enters the drum you have one of three problems:

    1. The water supply is shut off.
    2. The solenoid valve that supplies the water is not opening.
    3. No power to the washing machine.

Since you are hearing a hum, the machine seems to be trying to activate that valve,
The humming noise comes from the electromagnetic field that activates the valve,
