Sounds like you may have a couple of issues. Does your console power up when you press the power button on the console? If it's just the remote that won't power up the console than make sure you have a fresh set of batteries in the remote and then re-sync. Hold the remote next to the console, press the sync button on the remote and then press the sync button the remote. The flashing lights should go away. If not call Nintendo 1-800-255-3700. They will walk thru the troubleshooting with you and it's free!!
Just talked with Nintendo about this matter. Fortunately, the Wii has a safety feature on the AC adapter which shuts it down should there be any sort of significant "spike" or interruption with the power. The solution? Unplug the AC adapter for about 2 minutes (from the wall and the Wii unit itself), then plug everything back in! Believe it or not, this actually works!
You need to CONNECT your controllers do this by pressing the home icon on PLAYER 1s remote, then go to Wii remote settings, and press "Recconect" then you should be able to reconnect and connect the controller/s you have.
well first make sure everythings plugged in in the right place. i had a problem with the remote myself. like toyboy said, do the sync thing, but press both buttons at the same time and wait. If you have one remote connecting and others not, go ot wii sports and go to a double player game. it will say you need multiple remotes. then follow the sync instructions from there.
hope this helps

I've tried all the reseting and resyncing and new batteries. Wii directional arrows do nothing. This is on a game that at one time worked. Was not played for a while and now when I turned it on to hook up Wii Fitness I can't because arrows won't let me move to Wii game to press start, ugh.

The four lights on the bottom blink for a couple seconds and then stop when trying to connect to the wii. The wii powers on but does not acknowledge the remotes presence and does not show up on the screen

The Wii is not powering on, when we try using the controler the blue lights flash reapeatedly and the system still does not power on.
i have turned on my wii console and it works but i can't get any of my controllers to sync to the wii the blue lights will blink but it will never stay on and choose a player number it just all of the sudden stopped working, i was playing turned it off and i wanted to play a few hours later but the wii won't let my controller sync
i have controller ONE working but i just cannot get controller TWO to work.
the lights blink and i have pressed the sync button but it still wont work. i have three controllers, but only one works. how can i get atleast one other controller working?
I am having the exact same problem, wii remote powers on and blinks however system will not power on, have tried all troubleshooting. I have called the Nintendo service line and they are sending me a new "brick". Anyone know any reasons why??
