Our console would not power on (Wii is not even a week old), and I followed Solution #4 submitted by "trevorwinder" above.

TREVORWINDER, your advice fixed our problem, and I cannot thank you enough!

Sounds like you may have a couple of issues. Does your console power up when you press the power button on the console? If it's just the remote that won't power up the console than make sure you have a fresh set of batteries in the remote and then re-sync. Hold the remote next to the console, press the sync button on the remote and then press the sync button the remote. The flashing lights should go away. If not call Nintendo 1-800-255-3700. They will walk thru the troubleshooting with you and it's free!!

Just talked with Nintendo about this matter. Fortunately, the Wii has a safety feature on the AC adapter which shuts it down should there be any sort of significant "spike" or interruption with the power. The solution? Unplug the AC adapter for about 2 minutes (from the wall and the Wii unit itself), then plug everything back in! Believe it or not, this actually works!

You need to CONNECT your controllers do this by pressing the home icon on PLAYER 1s remote, then go to Wii remote settings, and press "Recconect" then you should be able to reconnect and connect the controller/s you have.

well first make sure everythings plugged in in the right place.
i had a problem with the remote myself.
like toyboy said, do the sync thing, but press both buttons at the same time and wait.
If you have one remote connecting and others not, go ot wii sports and go to a double player game. it will say you need multiple remotes. then follow the sync instructions from there.

hope this helps

Comment by kmatrix2009, posted on Feb 10, 2009

The four lights on the bottom blink for a couple seconds and then stop when trying to connect to the wii.  The wii powers on but does not acknowledge the remotes presence and does not show up on the screen
