You're right, some of the LG 290 users reported that even using the right USB data transfer cable the computer ALWAYS searched for the right driver to establish the connection but never succeeded. As in your case - it was about a missing driver. But now I will show you a LITTLE-BIG SECRET about the data transfer via Bluetooth. Sure, I know - the LG 290 doesn't allow such operation via Bluetooth. But this is how I mad it possible: # go to MENU > SETTINGS > BLUETOOTH > POWER > OFF > OK # press END now # you're on the MAIN SCREEN; dial ##7764726290 and SEND # enter 000000 > OK # go on BLUETOOTH SETTINGS > OK # if the server [FTP] is underlined/highlighted > OK # YES > OK # ON > OK So from now on you will be able to transfer data to/from PC via Bluetooth by using Bluesoleil application. I've found this trick quite a while ago on howardforums.com [... if I'm not wrong].
GOOD LUCK! ... and don't forget to RATE, please...
First and the foremost thing is that when u backup any info to an external hard drive try only back up the data that u have saved. Coz application cannot be saved if done they cannot be retrived. Now if those files are asking for permissions then right click on the file - properties - then on the securities - click on add - then Under Enter the object names to seclect type in Everyone then click on Check Name now Everyone will come in Underlined - click on OK - U will come back to properties tab then on top click Everyone - And under Permissions for everyone Under Full Control Check ALLOW - Then OK
this should fix the issue.
If this does not helps, since u have transfered all the data back to the PC why not format the External Hard Drive. Connect the Drive right click on it the see it teh format option is there or not if present then foprmat it.
If you are running windows vista, try right clicking on the locker -select properties-select compatibility tab- check mark the run in mode box and run the application in windows xp service pack 2 compatibility mode or another mode listed. If this doesn't work then your drive might have become corrupted, either from static electricity from being plugged/unplugged with your computer on, or coming too close to a magnet etc... Always back up your data. Good luck.
