ry connecting the external hard drive to another computer to recover/backup your data. When
you have such a large capacity hard drive, it pays to have a second
large capacity hard drive to backup your data in the event of the other
hard drive dying.Hard drives do fail especially if you accidently drop
it.
Why not just pull it out instead of clicking on safely remove hardware? Try it and see if it works. Sounds like your usb drive is not windows 7 compatible. Or windows 7 has some driver issue which is not uncommon.
click start click on my computer you should see your drive right click then select format another way is to control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select format hope this helps
GO TO CLICK START MENU, RIGHT CLICK MY COMPUTER, CLICK MANAGE, UNDER STORAGE, CLICK DISK MANAGEMENT (IF USING XP CLICK TREE REMOVABLE STORAGE). WAIT A FEW SECONDS, THEN ENLARGE THE PAGE. LOOK FOR YOUR DRIVE, THEN RIGHT CLICK THE DRIVE, THEN SELECT FORMAT. THAT SHOULD MAKE YOU ABLE TO START OVER.............HOPE THIS HELPS...................JEFFXC
