Unplug it and remove that battery, let it sit a few minutes.
Also did it feel warm on the bottom, or hot to the touch?
I might be time to get a can of compressed air and blow out any dist that may have accumulated inside on the fans & heatsink.

Does it boot up having white text then go blank/blank or its just blank from the start?

try letting it sit there for awhile, it might be finishing loading a windows update or something. Also before it goes to the windows splash screen hold the F8 to prompt the safemode screen. if you hold it down to long or too late it will beep like crazy. In safemode you can try a quick restore.

Easynote tj61 turns on but screen is blank

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

one thing that can cause display to fail completely even at the bios stage is a ram block. try removing the memory sticks and placing them back in. this has worked for me a number of times

I think your processor has died. I have had the same problem.Did it overheat if so its likely that it is the cpu. Good news is that it is easy to swop it. Bad news is that not many shops sell laptop cpu's

Dell 1501 inspiron laptop blank screen

Hi,

Have you installed any application/program prior to the blue screen? Most blue screen causes your system not to boot to your operating system anymore. It is possible that your hard drive is crashed due to a virus infections or spywares. Incompatibility and corrupted system registry may affect your system to have blue screen as well.

You may try the following steps below.

1. Restart your computer. After you pressed the power button to restart. Keep on tapping F8 key on the keyboard on and off.

2. Boot advanced option will show up on the screen. You may boot your computer to the following option.

a. Last known good configuration
b. Safe mode with Networking.

If Safe mode w/networking works, restore your computer to an earlier using the system restore features.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

jeff
