I've personally been performing restoration of high end metal surfaces, bronze, stainless steel, aluminum etc., including scratch removal, polishing, regraining, lacquering etc.. Strictly commercial properties, elevators escalators etc. I've performed these services for 30 years. As a Master Finisher I developed DeBruce Polish, and still perform metal restoration personally.

Scratch on door of stainless steel


If your question is how to get rid of it then what you need is a polishing compound and a wool polishing pad that goes on a drill. If it is a small scratch then you can get it with a dremel.

How to Remove scratches outside refrigerator door


This tip is only for small scratches which are like hair sized one not more than that,If you have deeply scratched panels,you have to hire a professional to refinish them.

Today most of the refrigerator door come in stainless steel based plastic door.You can easily remove the small scratches on these door.

Steps to be followed:

1)Take white cloth and it should be a soft and dry one.

2)Buy stainless steel polish and squirt it on a small cloth and rub over the scratched area.So that it will get pasted over it.

3)Rub in one angle and in same direction.

4)Now rub the scratch with scouring pad over the surface of the polished scratch.

5)Buff with a clean cloth and remove the small particles so that it wont make more scratches.

6)Wait for 3 hours and take some water dipped cloth and wipe on it.

7)For deep scratch you have Teflon coating so that no more scratches will occur and also removes the deep scratches.

How do you get fine scratches of the stainless steel door?


Firstly remove the handle, find the "allen" screws at underside of handle ends. Start first with a coarse towel and "re-scratch" the area. If that was not enough becoming more aggressive, use much care/ gentle pressure- a 3m scotch brite #7447 "going with the grain", you in essence are removing those scratches with scratches. Use DeBruce Polish with the grain for rourine cleaning and touch-ups. We use DeBruce Polish on all of our stainless steel.   • you may have to "re-grain" those finely scratched areas.
  • Blend or "scratch out" the misdirection scratch's with new "controlled" scratching, useing a 3M scotch brite #7447 you get at auto parts store (Nappa). Use medium very firm pressure.
  • -Re-clean with DeBruce Polish. Touch ups are now a breeze

    It is more cost effective to replace panels than remove the dents. We can remove scratches but not dents, use DeBruce Polish for maintenance.

    use scotch brite #7447 get at automotive stores and blend scratches with the grain. If they still exist use 180 to 240 grit sandpaper and again finish with the 7447
