Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer
I looked under the washer and found a white plastic piece that looks to be cracked or broken, in between the motor and transmission. When I turned it on spin cycle, this piece vibrated and made noise, yet didn't turn. What is this piece called? Is it a tough fix?
The part you are describing is the motor coupling. This is a common problem that is easily remedied and doesn't cost much if you want to repair it yourself. The following link explains how:
Replacement couplers can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartspros.com and repairclinic.com. All these sites offer competitive pricing, so shop for the best price. If you do not wish to order on line, take the part number I provided in the link to your nearest appliance parts retailer. This is a common part they should have in their inventory.
If you have questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.
