Recover deleted files on card

For that, you must insert the card in an external memory card reader and connect it to your computer. There are lots of recovery programs on the net, (all memory card brands have one) but you could start here:
Memory Card Data Recovery
When the show you what files you could undelete, but they ask money to do so (for another program) please just look for another program. I did find some free ones, but don't know them all. I use RescuePRO from SanDisk.

Computer saying no new pics but there are!

If you cannot get another reader to see the card and a direct USB connection from the camera to the PC doesn't see them either, then do a Quick Format in the computer and use an image recovery program to retrieve the photos. SanDisk RescuePro works great. Just don't shoot anything on the card until after you use the recovery software and it should get all your images back just fine.

if it is from a memory card, you can use a program like sandisk rescuePro deluxe or many types of drive or card recovery software to find and pull off files. if you have formatted over the card by accident the most important thing is not to record on it at all. otherwise you will record over the formatted material.

How to recover formatted files in sony dsc-h3

The best solution I have known for recovering lost files due to formatted discs or cards has been Sandisk's software called RescuePro. It is well known to recover files that have been formatted once, twice, or more. To me, it's worth the 40 bucks versus never getting that moment back. Here's the link:

I accidentally pressed the wrong button on my camera and reformatted it. Is there any way I canget my pictures back?

As long as you did a quick format and haven't taken any more pictures, you can probably recover them.
I've used something called RescuePRO that came with a memory card I bought ( You can apparently purchase it for $60 ( I'm not sure if they still give it away with memory cards, but if they do, that may be a better deal than buying it separately.

There are other tools you can use, but I'm not sure if there are simple, free tools available- many will show you thumbnails of what they can recover for free, but you have to pay for a full version to actually recover the files. Examples are

When I insert the CF card, and then turn the camera on, I get a reading that the card needs to be formatted. I then try to format the card, and it says that the card cannot be formated. I looked inside,...

If trying another card doesn't work then reformat your CF card in your computer choosing a Quick Format option. Then place it in the camera, do an immediate card format in the camera. If you've got images on the card now DO NOT SHOOT ANYTHING on the card before running an image recovery program like Sandisk RescuePro. As long as you don't shoot anything new on the card RescurPro should recovery all the existing images.

Inspirion 6400 recover

You can order recovery CD from Dell. Or altenatively, buy Windows XP in retail package at your local store (or used on eBay). By the way, you can install from a borrowed XP CD, since you have a valid serial number. (You will need the serial number from your borrowed CD and you may change the serial after installation). If you go on the later (and affordable solution) I can send you links to download FREE utility to change the serial.

Retreving Deleted pictures

First do not panic! It is possible to recover your pictures if you take care. Take the card from the camera (powered off) and if it has a "write protect" tab then lock it now. Do not try and write anything to the card or you risk causing more problems.

You can either plug in you camera to the PC as it should appear as a “Removable Drive” or put the card in a card reader attached to your PC.

Next, if you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a FREE utility that will recover your photos from the following link:

If you need something a little more "user friendly" then you will need to buy the software. If you search the web for photo recovery software you will find many.
One I have used successfully is RescuePro that used to be bundled with some Sandisk products. Now you can get it from the link below:

You can try the demo to see what you can recover before buying.

Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to the card until you can recover your pictures to your PC safely!
