Do not know how to fix bridge mode

I am having problems connecting to some applications and sites (mainy ventrilo v3.0.4). I called my ISP and they said that our router (a Netgear rangemax wirless router, model WPN824 v2) is in bridge mode and may affect it, but I do not know how to fix this problem. I am physically wired to my router on the desktop computer, and i heard bridge mode was for wireless, so I need to know how to fix this.

Wired or wireless? Shut down the computer. Unplug the NetGear. Unplug the ISP modem, remove battery, if applicable, Check ALL cables and connections, reseat ALL connections. plug in the ISP modem, wait for selftest. Plug in the NetGear, wait for selftest. Reboot the computer. Try connecting with a Ethernet cable if you are trying to connect wirelessly to verify. If that fails, contact your ISP to verify signal comming in. Have a ISP tech come out to analyze the signal.

I have an SMC WUSB-n2 wireless adapter with a netgear wireless n router. My desktop runs windows vista, and my computer will connect to the Internet, then drop to locally connected, then limited...

Have you tried to remove power from EVERYTHING, ISP modem, Battery, Netgear, Computer. Check all cables and reseat all connections. Replace Battery in ISP Modem, wait for selftest, Plug in Netgear, wait for selftest, plug in computer, reboot. If that has no effect, call your ISP provider, have them analyze the signal and a Modem test. If you haven't contacted them yet, sometimes it's outside issues with equipment. For example: I have a similar issue , I traced the signal all the way through the houe to the cable entrance. The issue was in a box outside, a large lawn mower had damaged the underground box. They will often sent a Tech with equipment that will pin point the problem.

I have been offered a Netgear N150 DGN1000 Wireless ADSL modem Router new for only £25.00 from a friend, however it has a sticker on the box that says ''For BT Connections''. I wanted to know if this...

Well this product DGN1000 is a generic router supplied by Netgear and can be used with any ADSL/DSL ISP. Please ensure that you upload the latest firmware for this router from the netgear support site and then you can use it with other ADSL/DSL ISP.
Hope this allows you to resolve the issue. If you need further assistance then let me know.

There is an orange flashing LED internet light on our netgear router

as per your router's manual
the light color is called amber and it means that you router is connected (ethernet cable going to your modem) but you're not getting an ip address from you the ISP, check with your isp after attempting to reset your modem (disconnet power and signal cable from modem wait a few seconds and reattempt to connect modem). if problem persists go ahead and check with the ISP.

Configuration for wi-fi

Yes its possible! first thing you need to do is call your ISP and ask what kind of connection type you have for your service then if your connection type is static connection yo need to ask for IP information regarding your service this is the connection type you need to set in your router, now if your service is Dynamic connection or DHCP you just need to hook up your router and set it to dhcp . i believe most router is set to dhcp as deafault settings so all you have to do is hook up you internet connection to your router. if your still having problem with your router you can call your router vendor support number, just give then your connection type and they will guide you regarding the router settings and how many computers you want get connected.

You should call the isp, because it is a problem on thier end. They will help you fix the issue, and worse case scenario, they will come to your house and fix the issue.

Can't get internet access through NetGear DG834G Router

You have to configure your router...

If your ISP provided you with IP Address, enter the assigned IP address, subnet mask, gateway IP address anbd DNS IP address for your broadband router.

If you connect to the Internet using an xDSL Modem and your ISP has provided you with a Password and a Service Name, then your ISP uses PPPoE to establish a connection. You must enter the required information.

Hope this could help..

NetGear Wireless Router - continous internet connection drops

Hi sharon,

If you  upgraded the software but still the connecitons is droping then contact the ISP (the internet service provider ), Because it is possible that they have something wrong thier side,,,THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN AS INTERMITTENT SYNC OR ROUTE,,, check the lights on your router , when the internet goes down which light changes,,,

and once you confirm that the problem is not with your ISP then you need to purchase a new router,

reply which is the ISP you are subscribing for.
