Microsoft Vista E-Mail Problem

Once again I am not able to delete some 52 of my files in the delete window on my Micro-Soft Windows Vista e-mail. I can delete recent messages but not these 52 messages. When I try to open them in the delete window and delete them. The original messeage doe not appear but a error message saying "Windows mail encountered an unexpected Problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again." Any idea how to fix this?

No help because I get an error message that won't allow me to delete by any way so far that I can find. I have the messages in the delete file but they will not delete. Cannot open and get that error message

  • reedelaverna Apr 25, 2009

This no doubt is my problem, as now I have some messages stuck in my incoming messages as well as in the delete messages. But I am not sure I can follow all this instruction right now to fix it. My mother is Hospice care, dying. I have just discovered termites in my house and I am 74 years old by myself and over whelmed right now. I have copied these instructions and I must say I am impressed with your knowing just what the problem is. My system is 32 bit. I hope when I am less exhausted I will feel like trying to correct this problem. Thank you very much for your help.

Try highlighting them and hold shift while you delete them.
Also after deleting files you will have to empty your recycle bin. Right click on it and delete permanently.

I accidentally permanently deleted my Outlook Express application, can it be restored? My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, 2009 version, Service Pack 1

Windows 7 does not support the use of Outlook Express - this was removed from Windows Vista and Windows 7 and replaced by Windows Mail (in Vista) and by Windows Live Mail (in 7).
If you have copies of the Outlook Express mail database files (inbox.dbx etc) you should be able to migrate these into Windows Live Mail using the Import Messages option in the File menu and selecting Microsoft Outlook Express 6 then browsing to the folder where your mail database files for Outlook Express are held.
If you have previously exported your Outlook Express account details (name.iaf) - you can import these into Windows Live Mail too through the Import option in the Accounts page.
Lastly, if you still have your Outlook Express Address book (name.wab) this can be imported in to your Windows Live Contacts by selecting File then Import Windows Address book (.wab).
