Too much water coming out of steam wand

I have successfully owned a Cafe Roma for years and love my machine. My parents bought one on my recommendation BUT have never been able to froth the milk successfully. They have given it to me. I have compared the two machines by measuring the amount of water coming from each wand when I steam it. There is just over twice as much water coming from the their steam wand than mine. This is causing the milk to not froth. Can this fault be fixed in their machine? Sue

I noticed the wand squirts hot water at first befor the steam comes out, sometimes for quite a while, so grab a bowl or something and let the water drain out until the steam comes and then put it in the milk. This is what I do and it makes awesome frothy steammed milk.

I worked at StarBucks, what we did was put water into a contaner and steam the water, a lot of the time why the steamer doesn'..t work as well is because it is clogged. Another way to do it is to just run your steamer, also go to a coffee store and buy expresso machine cleaner. It could just need a good cleaning.
