Which input on the TV and which output on the DVD player are you using? HDMI is the best and easiest. Next is standard video plus audio (3 leads, yellow - video, red and white - audio). If you are using the component input, you can get B&W if you have the leads incorrectly connected. If you're going from component to video in, you might have the same result, I'm not certain. I hope this helps you resolve your problem. Let us know.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Unfortunately, size limitation of what could be attached prevents posting a connection diagram. Still, proposed connection scheme:
  • 4250HDC's HDMI to Panasonic's HDMI 1 or 2;
  • 4250HDC's VIDEO OUT to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 VIDEO;
  • 4250HDC's AUDIO OUT to 2 pcs of RCA Splitters (shown below);
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 R-AUDIO-L;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's LD/TV L & R;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT VIDEO to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 VIDEO;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT R-AUDIO-L to 2 more RCA Splitters;
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 L-AUDIO-R;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's VCR 1 IN L & R;
  • to watch cable TV in HD quality, set Panasonic to HDMI 1 or 2 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 3 (or 4), then OK;
  • to hear cable TV programs on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to LD/TV;
  • to watch DVD or VHS, set Panasonic to Video 1 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 6, then OK;
  • to hear DVD or VHS on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to VCR 1;
  • to record cable TV programs, press GoVideo remote's TV VIEW button a couple of times to cycle through the signal sources or until Line 1 is displayed.

The use of the splitter shown below would effectively double the AUDIO OUT of the cable box and the DVD/VCR combo to feed both the TV and the stereo. Additionally, this would allow use of the cable box and/or the DVD/VCR combo with or without the Yamaha.

When I try to play a DVD or VHS on my GO Video DVD/VCR Combo machine, I get audio but no video & the TV (Sanyo 37" HD) says "No Input". I've checked connections, the TV has multiple video inputs but I...

  1. I found the problem - on the back of the VCR/DVD unit there are 3 outputs: L (Wht) & R (Red) Audio + Yellow Video out. The cable from it to the TV was labeled Red/Audio,White/Video, and was connected to the R & W outs, but actually the Wht should have been connected to the Yellow Video out. There is so little space in the TV cabinet/stand that even though I turned the unit around to see the connections, I couldn't see the other (Yellow - Video) out until I pulled the cables out. It's working fine now - I'm not sure how things got connected wrong, since it was working OK before - possibly when I signed up for AT&T U-Verse & the installers moved things around. I'm very happy with that service, by the way - better than Comcast & cheaper, and didn't mean to imply the connection problem was their fault. I may have moved things around in the new cabinet & not realized I hooked up to the wrong outs...

Component video signal between KLH DVD8350 & Vizio 32" PlasmaHDTV

If the Visio TV has more than one input, don't forget to use its remote to make sure the correct input is selected. It probably wouldn't hurt to put a DVD into the player, confirm its running from the front panel counters) and let it keep running as you troubleshoot. At least then you'll know there is an active video source once you find it. Another thing you can try is to put in a music CD, if the player accepts these too (most do). Then when you get the TV set to the right input, at least you'll hear music, and can then go back to trying a DVD.

I know you're using component video, so remember that unlike HDMI devices, the TV is unable to switch to the correct source automatically. So it may just be that you've never had to switch the TV's input source before. Good luck! :-)

HOW DO I CONNECT MAGNAVOX DVD/ VCR TO VIZIO FLAT SCREEN

Is simply. get the audio/vido cables and look on the back of the TV and connect from the audio video outputs from the combo to the audio video inputs on the tv. remember the colors of the terminals and connect them that matches the red, white (audio) and the yellow (video). Using the remote locate the button "input" or "source", and select video 1 or 2, depending where you connected it.

The dvd works fine but the vcr does not. the picture rolls.

The VCR is connected throug an audio/video cable (red, white and yellow) This happen because the electronic ciruitry on the combo "read" that the signal is going out to copy, and this devices have a copyraigh protection circuitry tat don't allow to do this, is not your fault, but making the connections like this, the systems automaticly activate this feature. If you can change the tv with one taht at least have the white and yellow RCA terminals, your problem will be solved definitevily.
