Green tint to hd picture

When I am watching HD channels and it is in the 4:3 format the picture has a green tint to it, when it is in the 16:9 format the green tint fades in and out. Any suggestions on what might be wrong

I just hooked up a HD cable box. However, cannot get a 16:9 HD picture. It is still a 4:3. Is there a setting on the tv? Any other ideas?

This is a early HD set---what I call first generation--IT DOES NOT HAVE THE 16 X 9 FORMAT.

Many of the early HD sets are like this--4 x 3 or letter box type HD picture only.

Sorry to give you bad news but based on the model number it does not have 16 X 9 format.

If this helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Green tint to picture when dvi cable is connected

The tv will show correctly in 720p mode. Cable box and PS3 must be set to display in 720p or the green tint will remain. For the PS3 I return it to 1080p when I am about to play a game, blu-rays and dvd's can only play in 720p.

RCA D56W20 picture problems

More information is required to properly troubleshoot this problem. How is your television connected when you are watching HD? Do you have HDMI for this, do you have a satellite or digital cable box? For analogue are you using regular coax antenna (cable TV), or are you going through a cable or satellite box?
This could be related to the aspect ration setting. perhaps you ahve changed your aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 or some other setting. If you are connected via HDMI, then the digital signal may be "normalizing" your picture during HD, but reverting back to the other setting.

Check you video settings very carefully. HD televisions are very difficult to tweak properly.

i have the same tv but bigger, the issue is easy, just take off the speaker covers on the front the the center panel. after that you will need to unscrew the board in the center once you pulled the center panel off, after that you will see a box with 6 adjustment, black. the top row of three are what you are going to want to adjust, you can fix your green, red, blue tint here
