SOURCE: poor picture quality in new Akai plasma TV

Try putting a fan on the back of the tv to see if it is getting better. If it does then you probally have a board that is overheating. If that is the case then CAREFULLY !!! remove the back and place where you can turn on and safely access the open back NO TOUCHING STUFF !!! Mabey lay it face down on a glass table or lay it on a table with 25% hanging over the edge to see the screen. Then take a COLD blow dryer and blow it on the boards to find out which one makes it get better. If one does then it will probally be your problem board. Make extremely sure that is the one before removing it by blowing from all angles on the boards around it without air hitting the suposed problem board. Then try a little hot air to see if that starts the problem on that board so you can be sure. Of course check the surrounding and offending board several times to be sure before removing.

Best multi purpose cleaner, FREE ?

Yes, White Vinegar is a great all purpose cleaner. I use a similar mix for cleaning windows. Spray and polish off with a microfibre cloth.

No sound on tv

Unplug your tv for a few minutes might help if it doesn't, turn your tv on, go to menu, reset to factory settings.

I accidentally cleaned my samsung led monitor with windex. there are streaks all over the monitor. i used a soft cloth to try and clean off the streaks and it did not work. Is there anything I can do to...

Hello mrm552,
The best possible case is to use to a proper tv screen cleaner, ex. monster screen cleaner. The solution comes with a cloth. Spray the cloth with the solution first with one or two sprays. Then in a circular motion wipe the screen. You can get this solution at most electronic stores where they sell TV's. Hope this helps, good luck.

Crackle sound from Mic Jack on Sony VX2100

buy CRC electronic contact cleaner that is plastic safe from home depot in their lighting/electronics dept. spray into female steroe jack holding camera upside down with straw slightly inserted. Do not spray a whole lot. Then let dry a few seconds and then spray the CRC plastic safe multi purpose precision lubricant. just a little and then plug the male end into jack. You might want to hold camera upside as well since you do not want oily residue inside tape transport. Push in a couple times then remove. Wipe male end with clean paper towel and spray that end then re-insert. Put on headphones and check to see if the problem got fixed. Check that little round bolt that holds it (female stereo jack) into place and tighten if needed
