Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Heats & drys fine but stops running after a long period of use and won't start back up right away. I assume it is cooling down then will run again.

    Thank you so much.

That was the first thing I did and oddly there wasn't very much to clean at all. Dyer is old but the last thourough cleaning was a little over 2 years ago. I was expecting to find a lot nor lint & dust than I did. I must have missed some somewhere or there is another problem.

Door switch is ok. Dryer doesn't always start sfter cooling. It is struggling to to turn the drum. Will not work at all with a heavy load and only sometines with a light load. I opened the door and held the door switch and tried to start it. It turned slowly but would not start. I turned the drum backwards so the cloths would be starting in a dwonward motion and it started. It ran 25 or 30 minutes and stoped. My wife is guessing it is a belt problem(?).

Your dryer vent needs to be cleaned. Also, pull out the dryer and clean the part of the vent entering into the dryer from the back. This will cause the unit to cut out on thermal lockout.

Yes, it could be the door switch. If it is not making good contact, it will shut the dryer down. But I really think this has to do with thermal lockout. You will have to try and locate the thermal use on this and replace it. This will be located where the element is and should be independent of anything else. I will probably be real obvious when you see it.

It'll pay to have the crank sensor checked. They're known for heating up and stalling the car when they're no longer any good. Usually once it has cooled down the car will start but as soon as the sensor gets hot it'll stall again

My 95 ford f150 runs great till it warms up it seems then the fuel pump looses power n shuts down wait few mins kicks back on runs fine till few min later

Sounds like your ignition module it is common on fords to do this when its cool it will start and run fine but once it heats up the truck dies until you let it cool down again and then your up and running till it heats up again. Some modules are mounted on the fender others are mounted with the distributor have it checked and let me know how it went.

RUNS AND QUITS

You could try replacing the ignition coil. If it's failed, then it may run ok for a few seconds, but as it heats up it fails. Trying to start again immediately will be too soon for the coil to have cooled down. Leave it a few minutes to cool down and it will run again, but only for a few seconds again.
Hope that helps

Mazda 323 1985 runs fine when cold after the car heats up it will randomly die. Just cuts out completely. Won't start straight away but after 30sec it will start like nothing was wrong. Then it will...

This is going to be tough to fix. Chances are its a relay or the ignition module, but until it gets to where it will not start for several minutes or not at all, you won't know if you have fixed it or not.
Something is getting hot, cooling off, then getting hot again.

Does it restart after it cools down? If so your motor may be overheating and shutting down.

Kenmore series 90 washer runs for a short period and then stops

Hello,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but what your describing is a classis sign of a bad motor. When the motor is bad it will run will its cool...when it heats up it shuts off and will restart for a short time when colled off till once again hot and shuts off again.
