How to upgrade RAM memory for Laptop Philips X50 Freevents?

There is such a panel, but it does not have the memory located there, it seems to be the fan.

I tried to unscrew the whole laptop base, but couldn't seem to separate it, particulary around the DVD drive/firewire port. Didn't want to force it.

There are 2 memory slots under the keyboard cover at the front right of the laptop. If you unscrew the 4 screws at that run along the front of the base and the 2 that relate to the front right as you look down at the keyboard you will be able to gently unclip the keyboard cover on that side and gain access. be careful though as the cover is held in place on the left by a hidden clip that I have not found as yet.
The dimm installed in the back slot is a 512mb ddr333mhz pc2700 sodimm.

Usually there will be a panel screwed inplace on the bottom help in by 1 or 2 screws. that is removable and where the memory can be inserted. I recommend that you find the exact type of memory you need and order it online for best prices.

Laptop memory upgrade - Freevents X67

There are usually small buttons that slide in order to unlock access doors in the case, in addition to the screws. Look at the bottom of the laptop for switch type of buttons. There should be one to hold the battery and the cd drive and one for the hard drive. Keep a coffee cup next to you in order to drop the small screws and parts into it so that they do not get knocked off of the table during your work.

the requirment of cup speed, something just fooling people, you don;t very need to pay attention on it, however, even if you upgrade ram into 1gb, i think for some reasons, 2GB would be the best.......

Memory upgrade for freevents X50

What is the model of this brand and model of this Laptop? How many memory sticks do you wish to install?

In most Laptops, if you flip it over so you are looking at the bottom where the battery is, there is a cover held on by one screw that has an "M" etched into it. That will have one of the memory slots and sometimes both depending on the brand. If there is only one memory slot there and you need to upgrade two, replace that the 1st and the 2nd will be under the keyboard. Taking the keyboard off is fairly simple, you will have a plastic strip on where the buttons are that should have a little groove on the right or left side just big enough to fit a small screw driver in. Carefully pop off that plastic strip. You will now see anywhere from 1-3 screws that holds the keyboard down. Remove those screws and very slowly and carefully remove the keyboard, you may have to disconnect a cable on the bottom of the keyboard if you cannot move it far away enough to install the memory 2nd memory stick.

Please let me know if this solved your problem or if I can be of further assistance.
