Question about Computers & Internet
My AL 1912 always boots up with the initial screens half off to the left, so I can't read them. Also, when I go into setup, it is the same. Even the Windows splash is off to the left. Everything is fine after that.
There's nothing wrong with the monitor. Monitors remember the settings for different video modes, including horizontal position. The video mode used when the splash screen displays is a size almost every monitor can handle. Then the mode switches to whatever you've set once Windows finishes startup. As long as the display is normal once Windows is running, you really don't need to be concerned.
If you want to correct the problem, you need to put the monitor into the same resolution and use its menu functions to adjust the size and position. Try pressing F8 when the machine boots to get into the Windows startup menu. This will probably also be shifted, so you can adjust the settings while the menu is being displayed.
