Polar F11F Error 16

I have recently changed the battery in my Polar F11F and all was working fine for about two weeks. The screen went scrambled and was unreadable and then error 16 was then displayed. You can sometimes see error 16 displayed but sometimes you can't.

I have looked in the manual and nothing!

Any help/advice is warmly welcome.

Cheers

You need to hold down all 4 or 5 buttons at once. This will reset your watch and bring up the message "welcome to polar fitness world". Press ok button 1x to start your setup process.

I pressed al the 5 buttons at once, was a little bit tricky, but pressed the center button on the right on a table and used my fingers for the other 4 buttons.
Screen went completely black, al the symbols were shown.
After a while, I had to re-enter the settings.
It's working now :D Only problem is that the hr-sensor isn't working..probably also a dead battery.

Hi, my polar ft80 (black screen, white numbers), stops working quite often. The screen turns black and when it comes back, i have to go through the settings screens again. It happens about once or twice...

probably there's a problem with the connection of the battery of your watch, that's why it turns off, second it might have a different size of battery that have been installed. or the battery is not properly installed. these are all the possible cause of your watch. i hope i had been helped you.

Hi i have change the battery in a polar f6 but?

Make sure you don't have the battery in upside down. The large outside case of a button cell is the +positive side.

Polar F11 ''Scrambled/Smudged'' Display

You have to replace the battery with the new one. In most cases underpowered battery causes faded or even disappearing digits on LCD unless your watch has been damaged by water. Find your nearest watch repair shop or do it yourself. Do not forget to rate, please.

Connection Problem between the LCD screen and PC board

Sometimes you can solve this sort of problem by sticking a couple of small pieces of tape on the front side of the lcd screen in places where they wont be visible on the outside - they will push the screen back onto its connections - there is quite possibly a small piece or seal that is now missing that would have done this job before. If you want to conatct polar directly for help go to this link - you can get a user manual and all the contact details for service etc. http://www.polarusa.com/Products/fseries/f6.asp?cat=consumer My advice would be to send it to them to get it fixed - replacing a battery on its own is rarely all that needs to be done to a watch when the battery runs out - it is a convenient service interval as seals need replacing, parts need checking or lubricating or cleaning etc. Hope this helps :)
