Hi,

Probably you are using the slowest memorycard. If it is a Olympus you have an XD card. Buy the fastest card it's more expensive but worth! You can buy the high speed from Olympus.

Rob

When i take shots with my nikon d1x it show black in the lcd screen.Any one that can answer

I don't have a manual of the D1 (they are still online for free with Nikon) so In a detail I could be wrong, But when setting up the delay time for monitor off, you can select monitor off. Check n the settings (C5 or so) if you selected a delay time, or accidentally choose for monitor off.

Setting the timer

Press the 4-way switch downwards to cycle through the selftimer modes: First press shows the selftimer symbol, which means 10 secs delay, next press shows selftimer2 symbol, which gives 2 secs delay. When delay is set, press the shutter button to take the picture. The selftimer lamp will blink untill the picture is taken.

How do you delay the shutter so you can be in the

Press "Func." button. Scroll up or down to "Drive Mode". Scroll to the right to the icon showing "10" for 10 seconds (the other is 2 seconds). Press "Func" again. Put the camera on a table or chair (best/safest to use a tripod). Press the shutter, and get in the picture!!!

Timer?

hi... try this method

1 In any Still mode, tap Settings to open the Settings
panel.
2 Tap Self-Timer/Burst repeatedly, until the desired
Self-timer icon appears at the bottom of the LCD:
10 seconds—A picture is taken after a 10-second
delay (so you have time to get into the scene).
2 seconds—A picture is taken after a 2-second
delay (for a steady, auto-shutter release on a
tripod).
2 shot—The first picture is taken after a 10-second
delay. A second picture is taken 8 seconds later.
3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter button halfway, then completely down.
The camera takes the picture/pictures after the delay....

thank u

Delay when taking picture

2 things to be checked to rectify this delay.
what size of memory stick you are using. 1GB is fine, 2GB slower the camera and 4GB is more then enough.
Check memory stick, is it full with files? try to make more free space in memory stick.
perform "intialization" by selecting in camera menu.
Good luck.

A 2007 Toyota Avalon XLS. When accelerating from a standstill the their is a hesitation before the propergear is engaged. Once the car is moving the transmission shifts normally - this is msore pronounced...

This is the downfall of a new toyota congrads you can relate to me i Own a 2008 Scion tC these new toyota's are driven by what is called "Drive By Wire Throttle system" there will always be a delay in the throttle response espcially in newer toyota's with an automatic transmission hence the newer ones have a 5 speed automatic transmission instead of the 4 speed automatics kind of a poor design on there end with the Drive By Wire. Sorry this is a problem that happens to be a design flaw on toyota's and some people notice it more than others.

Miss all the action shots with this camera

The longest part of the shutter delay is caused by the autofocus mechanism. Most cameras will let you press the button half-way down and wait until the autofocus is locked. Then wait for the action to occur. When you press the button the remaining distance, there will be a shutter delay of about 0.2 seconds before the picture is taken. Using that technique will let you capture action shots. There is no way to improve shutter delay on any particular camera. The newer digital cameras are showing improvement in this area. Some are achieving autofocus lock in 0.4 seconds and shutter delay of an additional 0.1 seconds.
