On Dell.com you can navigate to the support section and enter the service tag # to find a complete list, or enter the model number and choose by operating system. Download and install the needed drivers.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to disable password on Dell Optiplex D170L

Click the "Start" button and then click "Run." Type "Perfmon.msc" (without quotes) and then press "Enter." This opens the Performance window of the System Monitor tool.

Click any of the counters in the right pane that you want to disable.

Click "Delete." This will remove the counter from the System Monitor on your Dell OptiPlex 170L and stop the self-monitoring of that service.

hope this helps

My dell professional xp fans spins super fast .why?

Try to blow out the computer dust from the case. You MUST dis-connect all power from computer and devices. Take it out on your patio and blow the dust out with the vacuum cleaner, but DO-NOT actually touch the vacumm brush oh the motherboard.

How to restore my Dell Optiplex 170L without losing my XP professional OS

Try CTRL + F11 when powering up.

What this does (or should do) is initialize Dell's System recovery utility. It will restore the system back to it's factory original state (the state the system was in when it left the factory). This won't remove the operating system, but if you've upgraded the OS or made significant custom changes to the computer (software wise) you may lose all the changes. If XP professional is the original OS on the system when you bought it, the recovery will leave the OS on the system. If you've upgraded to Pro, and you still have your install disc, or have access to an install disc and your XP Pro product key, you can reinstall XP Pro after the recovery.

No sound after installing windows genuine advantage

More than likely, you need the audio driver.

Do a window's update and see if it will download the driver automatically.

If not, you can try going to dell's website and downloading the driver's from there.

The website should have an option to scan you computer for the model number and then suggest which drivers apply to your system.
